The People’s National Party stands with Colombia. 🇯🇲🤝🇨🇴
Following yesterday’s devastating earthquake, we extend our deepest condolences to the Government and people of Colombia.
Opposition Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Senator Donna Scott-Mottley:
“At this difficult moment, our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones, those injured, and families awaiting word on loved ones. We know all too well how quickly a natural disaster can change lives.”
We commend the emergency responders and citizens working to save lives.

Coopers Pen families deserve dignity and support. 🇯🇲
Following today’s demolitions in Coopers Pen, Northern Trelawny, PNP constituency Chairman for Northern Trelawny Dennis Meadows is calling for urgent representation for affected residents.
Many families displaced are still recovering from Hurricane Melissa and preparing children for the new school year.
“Residents expect their elected representative to be present, to engage the relevant authorities, and to ensure fair treatment,” Mr. Meadows said.
We call on the Government to act now to ensure no Jamaican family is left without assistance.

They dont want you to know this so the media is paid to sweep this under the rug. In other dispensations this would have been news and the topic of many talkshows and programmes but alas the narrative must be maintained even when the facts dont align. The economy is in trouble.
This is Mark Golding, Opposition Leader.
As we celebrate Jamaica's sixty-fourth year of Independence, let us remember: the Jamaican story was never written by those who doubted what was possible.
Our story has always been told by those who believed this nation could pull through, and grow stronger. That same spirit must guide us now more than ever.
May we build a nation worthy of the sacrifices of those who came before us.
Happy Independence Day, Jamaica. God bless our beloved land and all her people.
As we celebrate 64 years of political independence, we honour the generations whose courage and conviction gave Jamaica the right to determine its own destiny. Their vision extended beyond the transfer of political authority. It was a vision of a nation where opportunity is available to all, democratic institutions are strong, integrity is valued, justice prevails, and every Jamaican can realise their full potential.
May we continue to honour their sacrifices by building a nation worthy of their vision.
Happy Independence Day, Jamaica. 🇯🇲
The story of Jamaica is one of resilience, courage and hope. As we commemorate Emancipation Day, let us renew our commitment to the ideals for which our ancestors struggled, reject division, embrace our shared destiny, and work together to leave our nation stronger and more just than we found it.
Happy Emancipation Day, Jamaica. 🇯🇲
There are people trying to tie NaRRA to hurricane relief. They clearly do not understand what NaRRA was created to do. NaRRA is not the agency handing out food, grants, roofing material or replacement houses to hurricane victims.
While the public is pushed to quarrel over the latest staged controversy, we are expected to forget the backdoor TCN deal—negotiated behind closed doors and signed without proper public or parliamentary scrutiny
The JLP playbook is painfully predictable: manufacture fake outrage, unleash the surrogates and flood the media with noise so Jamaicans miss the serious issues unfolding behind the scenes.
We want to hear what is been done for those still living under tarpaulins, about the billions collected and still not given to those in need and about the data of the donors that was given to the Yoga man. @NationwideRadio go fly a kite.
At this morning's press conference on the Local Government Funding Crisis, Mayor of Kingston and St. Andrew, Andrew Swaby, highlighted the growing gap between the responsibilities of municipal corporations and the resources available to carry them out.
Mayor Swaby explained that while each KSAMC division receives funding for local infrastructure works, the allocation falls far short of what is needed to properly maintain the parish's road network. He noted that the cost of repairing just one kilometre of road significantly exceeds the annual allocation available to many divisions, leaving the municipality with a substantial funding shortfall.
He also raised concerns about staffing shortages, pointing out that only 4 technical officers are responsible for servicing all 40 electoral divisions despite repeated requests for additional personnel.
Addressing statements made about local government revenues, Mayor Swaby disputed claims regarding development approval income, clarifying that the figures cited do not reflect the actual revenue received by municipal corporations. He argued that local authorities continue to operate with limited own-source revenue while facing increasing demands to deliver essential services. @AndrewSwabyJA
What a night in Plantation, St. Ann!
"A Taste of Sumfest" this past Saturday reminded us why Jamaica is the music capital of the world.
Congrats to Joe Bogdonavich and the organizers for another successful staging. And deep respect to:
The hardworking crews behind the venue, stage, sound & lights
The musicians who poured their hearts out
The vendors who fed the vibes
And the JCF for keeping the peace
Every job matters. Every individual matters. Culture is an industry. And on Saturday, "A Taste of Sumfest" in Plantation proved it.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of the Dean Alexander Peart, former MP for North West Manchester, former Cllr and Mayor of Mandeville, and former Cabinet Minister.
For 22 years, Deanie served his constituents with hard work and a devotion that set the standard for representational politics.
His community centres, basic schools, and scholarship fund stand as living monuments to his love for the people.
I extend heartfelt condolences to his wife Vynette, his children, and the entire Peart family.
Walk good, Deanie. 🕊️
The People’s National Party mourns the passing of Dean Alexander Peart, former Member of Parliament for North West Manchester, Councillor and Mayor of Mandeville, as well as former Cabinet Minister.
A proud son of Manchester and of the PNP, he carried forward the legacy of his father, the Hon. Ernest Peart, and served alongside his brother, former Speaker Michael Peart, in one of Jamaica’s great political families.
Dean Peart won the North West Manchester seat five consecutive times, serving his constituents for 22 years with unmatched dedication. He built 13 community centres and numerous basic schools across the constituency, championed education for young people.
In Government, he served as Minister of State or Minister with responsibility for several portfolios, including Labour, Environment and Lands, and Local Government.
Known for integrity, hard work and straight talk, Deanie was loved by the people he served and respected across the political divide.
The Party extends deepest condolences to his wife Vynette, his children, the entire Peart family, and the people of North West Manchester. May his soul rest in eternal peace. 🤍
How did this man get to own Sugar Beach to the point he says he owns up to 15ft out from the waters edge? Which MP facilitated him owning the beach so now he chases persons off from using it?
@NationwideRadio Imagine a woman caught robbing govt by the IC and was convicted sits on the IC Oversight Committee. Its like having criminals on the Police Services Commission.
The idea that the IC must protect people's reputation is preposterous. The IC does not and cannot make false statements ab anyone and it is not the IC's business to protect you from the consequences of your own actions.
