@WarrenPies What your thought is around the idea that all the Capex spending is recognized immediately as revenue and profits to many of these firms but not showing as expense to spenders & being amortized over 5-10 year creating the appearance of massive profit growth. Dumb or valid worry?
@kevinolearytv Hilarious responses. Why does it matter if they “leave”? They are already not there lol They sell the property or they pay the tax. If they don’t want to pay the tax they will just sell. It’s ultra wealthy people who have the funds to pay the tax obviously. Won’t effect them
@kevinolearytv That’s the point. Wealth is not a good in and of itself. It’s ok if we free up some property for residence if people don’t like it and sell. If people have so much than can afford a vacant property & aren’t even present in that community they can just pay the tax
@dailychartbook@mattcerminaro Backward looking. Earnings won’t come through now as expected on a forward looking basis would be my hypothesis. Combine that with multiple contraction & we got a lot of air below.
@Mr_Derivatives Bubble could be in the spending/capex that’s producing much of the forward PE estimates. Maybe they don’t all materialize & in hindsight they end up looking very bubbly? Could happen
"There is no reason, whether or not Trump declares that war is over, to think that Iran will not continue for some time to threaten to destroy the ships that try. Why should they stop?"
---
Exactly, Trump cannot TACO.
If he thinks declaring victory and leaving lowers gas prices, it will do the opposite. Iran will know it has the West by the jugular and keep squeezing so crude PERMANENTLY stays at $200+/barrel.
The only way to get oil prices down is to neutralize Iran's ability to disrupt shipping.
We are sending our kids to school to memorize facts that AI can retrieve in 0.3 seconds.
We're grading them on essays that AI writes better than their teachers.
We're preparing them for jobs that won't exist by the time they graduate.
The entire education system is training humans to compete with machines at what machines do best.
That's not education. That's sabotage.
The schools that survive will teach thinking, not memorizing. Creating, not repeating. Discerning, not obeying.
Every other school is a museum that doesn't know it yet.
