BREAKING: 1994 batch AGMUT IPS officer Anurag Kumar is appointed as Delhi Police Commissioner replacing Satish Golcha, who has been asked to report to LG Delhi. Kumar is currently serving in IB as Special Director and in the last five years, he's been promoted twice on record.
BREAKING: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has re-employed Shri Ravi Agrawal on contract as Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes for a period of six months from 01.07.2026 to 31.12.2026.
EXCLUSIVE: Mahesh Dixit, IPS 1993, to be the next Director of Intelligence Bureau. He will replace Tapan Kumar Deka, who has been on a second extension after his retirement. Mr Dixit, an old IB hand who specialises on J&K, will take over as IB chief after the end of Mr Deka’s term on June 30.
BREAKING: @BJP4India-backed independent candidate Parimal Nathwani @mpparimal wins in the Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand. He defeated @INCIndia candidate @pranavINC. Nathwani secured 28 votes, while the Congress candidate polled 20. @JmmJharkhand candidate won the other seat with 30 votes. Nathwani, who works for Reliance Industries Ltd, entered the election with the support of only 24 BJP-led NDA legislators, despite requiring 28 votes to win. The JMM-INC-RJD-CPI(ML) alliance had 56 votes, enough to elect two candidates with 28 votes each. The result indicates cross-voting by members of the ruling alliance. Nathwani had lined up 30 votes for himself, but two votes cast in his favour were rejected.

BREAKING: @JmmJharkhand & coalition partner @INCIndia resolve Rajya Sabha seat tussle. The two parties will contest one seat each. The JMM had earlier announced that it will contest both the seats. The matter was resolved in a discussion between CM @HemantSorenJMM and AICC observers @bhupeshbaghel & @Ajaysharmaaicc. The CM has convened a dinner meeting of all 56 MLAs of the ruling coalition tonight where the decision will be announced.

Congress party needs 28 votes to get its candidate elected. The party has 16 MLAs in the state assembly. It needs the support of four @RJDforIndia MLAs, two Left MLAs and the six surplus votes of @JmmJharkhand. The JMM has 34 MLAs. After getting its candidate elected with 28 votes, it will have six surplus votes.
