do you ever sabotage your own free time? like wtf is that about? i want to play this game or read or do something specific but instead i will just stare out the window or scroll mindlessly???
Every generation does respectability politics nonsense with black kids. And it starts with believing that they’re uniquely morally and socially deficient. When black kids are just like all other kids. The burden of racism should make you more sympathetic to them, not harsher.
Im not gonna stop saying niggayuri and niggayoai that’s just how it is
We having fun and not bothering nobody they need to stay outta black business instead
crazy how just this moment right here of louis staring at himself in the mirror after spending the night with lestat is more queer and earnestly so than the entirety of season 3
BC PEOPLE ARE NOT COMFORTABLE LEAVING THEIR LIFESTYLES WITH NO SAFETY NETS IN PLACE WHEN SHIT HITS THE FAN. WE MUST STOP YELLING AT EVERYONE AND START PLANNING.
when i see Black ppl in public w/bonnets or durags on i literally don’t think anything of it. i don’t think anything of it because i’m not a dicksucking weirdo who can’t mind they own business.
I have a Masters Degree in Higher Education and none of the shit yall saying about “dressing for success” and outlawing bonnets or durags is supported by data. Key findings from federal data and civil rights studies show that over 80% of predominantly Black schools enforce strict dress codes, leading to higher rates of classroom removal and negative psychological impacts. HBCUs are predominantly Black schools right??
I don’t feel the crushing responsibility of Black representational politics, so people can wear whatever the fuck they wanna wear I am me and they are them. We just both happen to be Black and that’s OK.
1) Because it has zero bearing on your ability to learn. Zero.
2) They start with bonnets, and next thing you know they're telling you can't wear certain types of clothes, either.
3) And because historically when you start policing people's clothes, you start to unnecessarily police other things as it pertains to their bodies, too. It is a slippery slope.
Most importantly, it is rooted in white supremacist ideals around how Black people should "present" themselves in public in order to be deemed worthy of respect.
