@japan_nobunaga I was 29 years old, my husband and I took our new 22 rifle out to our property in the desert and shot some pumpkins. I got my concealed carry permit in 2025 after my baby was born.
250 years ago, fifty-six men signed their names to a death warrant.
If the Revolution failed, that document was a hanging list. They knew it and they signed nonetheless. Pledging their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to an idea that did not yet have an army strong enough to defend it.
N.C. Wyeth painted the gap between the promise and the price.
Above, in the light and clouds, the signers commit their names.
Below them, the farmers, tradesmen and frontiersmen, are the ones who had to make those words real. In the smoke and the fight.
It took seven more years of war. Trenton. Valley Forge. Saratoga. Yorktown.
Most of the men in the struggle never signed the Declaration.
But they paid for it.
America 250 🇺🇸
Happy 250th Birthday America! 🎉 Tokyo is celebrating with you tonight with beautiful fireworks lighting up the bay and Rainbow Bridge plus Tokyo Tower glowing red white and blue!
It makes me so happy as a Japanese person to see this warm friendship. Real allies celebrate together like this.
God bless the USA and God bless Japan 🇺🇸🤝🇯🇵
The World Cup has turned America into a discovery channel for the rest of the world.
And they are not handling it well.
In the best possible way.
Here is what they are discovering:
Free public restrooms. Europeans pay every time.
Free water at every restaurant. Just appears.
Free refills. Coffee. Sodas. Iced tea. Unlimited.
Free chips and salsa before you even order.
Free warm bread with dinner.
Ice in drinks like civilized people.
Air conditioning everywhere. Not a moral debate. A fact.
Parking lots attached to the actual place you are going.
Drive throughs where the food comes to the car while you sit in it.
Ranch dressing by the gallon.
Tex-Mex that cannot be explained only experienced.
Dental care that actually works.
Buccee’s. There are no words for Buccee’s.
Then they found the grocery stores.
Five of them within one mile.
Each one the size of an aircraft hangar.
Burgers. Steaks. Brisket. Ribs. Pulled pork. Lamb. Veal. Every cut of every animal ever domesticated by human civilization available in one refrigerated aisle at ten in the morning on a Tuesday.
The Germans stood in the meat section for forty five minutes.
In silence.
Processing.
They finally understand why we do not have trains.
We have roads wide enough for the cars we actually drive.
Parking lots the size of small European countries.
Airports in every city worth visiting.
Why would we need trains.
The Germans are taking ranch home by the bottle.
The Dutch found queso and briefly lost the ability to speak.
The Japanese are photographing HEB like it is the Louvre.
The Czechs are weeping in West, Texas.
Welcome to America!
The greatest country on earth.
@x we seriously need to be able to write more without paying premium, I often have a longer reply to things and can finish it. So then I just delete it. Yall would likely have more engagement if we weren’t so limited.
@Romy_Holland When I nannied in 2013 I got paid like 15 an hour for a 4-8 hour shift 3-5 days a week. It felt like a good pay to me but that was back then. If you’re a teenager with nothing else to do and no bills $20 and hour is great, if you’re an adult with adult bills not so much.
I’ve decided I like x better than threads, we may be trolls on here but over there the second you disagree with someone they just start attacking you as a person. Very liberal feminist of them.
@MissingLink5_@DerrickEvans4WV Yes let’s absolutely destroy a young women’s hormones as soon as she is pregnable just so we don’t have to feel bad about wanting to kill babies.
@BritHugoboom I wish someone had told me about armpit/chin cheese. I didn’t understand why my girl was smelling funky, bc I was sponge bathing her. Finally figured it out about a month in 😭
@magdalenacals I want flowers for pushing that kid out and my baby. I actually work almost 60 hours a week. I want to spend time with the little human who made me a mom not get away from them. Even if I was a sahm. I want to spend the day with my kiddo.
Look time “alone” would be nice sure but as a mom I want to spend time with the little human who made me a momma on Mother’s Day. I’m not here for this selfish I need to get away from my kids to celebrate Mother’s Day shit. I work 55 hours + a week at a physical job. I want my bb
Ladies stop marrying incompetent men. I said this porch was nasty after walking out there and feeling the dirt on my feet. Moments later he grabbed the broom and started sweeping. He took care of something I didn’t for he heard me.
@RizomaSchool I think people make too much out of this holiday. Moms whose children are grown get flowers and well wishes. Moms with non grown children get stuff from their kids (the father) and maybe breakfast in bed. Men though you should prioritize the mother of your children not your mom.
