Tesla’s driverless Robotaxis have traveled 400,000 miles. They have not saved any lives yet, statistically speaking.

Tesla self-driving supervised has now driven 13 billion miles. 155 fatalities would be expected if humans drove those miles. As best I can tell, there are two known fatalities where the driver has FSD supervised active. Let’s call it 5 fatalities to account for examples i’ve missed. FSD (Supervised) has therefore saved around 150 lives.

FSD unsupervised, once scaled, will dramatically increase miles traveled and lead to thousands of lives saved.

My car made a noise.

I took it to a large repair chain. They gave me a printed estimate for two thousand dollars. It was itemized. It had a barcode. It looked extremely legitimate.

I showed it to an American.

He read it for four seconds and made a sound with his teeth.

Then he said, "Don't do that."

I asked what I should do instead.

He said, "Go see Sal."

Sal has no sign. Sal operates out of a building with no name on it, on a street with no other businesses, behind a chain link fence that is always open.

There is no website. There is no phone number that anyone answers. You simply go there, and Sal is there, and Sal has always been there.

Inside I said: THE MAN HAS NO BANNER AND NO GATE AND YET EVERY HOUSE IN THIS PROVINCE KNOWS THE ROAD.

I drove to Sal's. There were nine cars in the lot. Nine. On a Tuesday. With no advertising of any kind.

Sal listened to my engine for eleven seconds.

He did not connect a computer. He did not look at my paperwork. He put his hand flat on the fender and listened, the way a physician listens to a chest.

He said, "Sensor."

I asked how much.

"Hundred forty."

I showed him the two thousand dollar estimate.

He read it. He handed it back. He said, "They're not wrong."

They're not wrong.

He would not insult them. A man with no sign, being handed the paperwork of a national chain, declined to say a single bad word about it.

He said, "They gotta replace the whole assembly. That's their rule. I just replace the sensor."

Inside I said: HE DID NOT CALL THEM THIEVES. HE EXPLAINED THEIR CONSTRAINTS. HE DEFENDED THE MEN WHO WERE ABOUT TO TAKE MY MONEY.

He fixed it in forty minutes.

I asked how he learned this.

He said, "My dad."

I asked if his dad was still around.

He pointed at a chair in the corner of the garage. An old man was sitting in it, doing nothing, watching.

He had been there the entire time. I had not registered him as a person. I had registered him as furniture.

Sal did not react. Sal has heard "he's alright" his entire life. Sal understands what it means. Sal will say it to his own son in thirty years and mean the same thing.

None of them were told the address. I described the fence.

At this point if you still claim Israel is committing genocide in Gaza you are either stupid and ignorant or antisemitic.

The antisemitic version usually means applying a double standard on the definition of genocide and the laws of war just to delegitimize Israel’s existence or right to pursue legitimate goals in a war it did not start or/and dehumanize every IDF soldier as a monster.

I have tried to argue basic definitions. Genocide requires intent to destroy a national, ethnical, racial or religious group as such, in whole or in part. The evidence does not show that intent toward the people in Gaza. What it shows is the opposite. Israel has taken extraordinary steps, often at real cost and risk, to prevent civilian harm while fighting an enemy that hides among them, uses hospitals and schools as bases, and treats its own people as props in an evil grand political strategy of martyrdom to eliminate all jews on the planet.

In the middle of the fighting Israel has let in huge amounts of food, hundreds of thousands of tons, sometimes more than the world food specialists said was needed. Water lines from Israel have stayed open, three of them supplying tens of thousands of cubic meters a day. They have coordinated repairs, kept desalination plants running by sending fuel and even electricity to key ones, and allowed generators so water systems, hospitals and bakeries can keep working. Medical supplies and equipment have poured in by the tens of thousands of tons. Field hospitals coordinated. Patients have been evacuated for treatment outside. When polio showed up for the first time in decades Israel halted fighting every day and worked with WHO and UNICEF on a mass vaccination campaigns. Over a million doses given. That is not how you try to wipe out a people.

Then look at the misinformation machine. Almost every big claim about Israel deliberately targeting journalists or medical staff or children falls apart, and a lot of the time it falls apart because of what Hamas itself admits, sometimes before anyone even finishes basic fact checking. The “journalists” killed for example. Plenty of the names on those lists later show up in Hamas or Islamic Jihad martyr posts as actual operatives or commanders. Dual roles are common in Gaza’s information space. Same with medical workers. People mourned as nurses or doctors get claimed later by the terror groups as fighters. Hospitals have been used as command centers and weapons storage over and over. Hamas officials have even said it out loud at times. Manuals found on how to use the hospitals as Hamas military sites.

The casualty numbers and the “they are targeting children” stories. The Hamas health ministry figures get treated like gospel, yet their own underlying data and later admissions undercut every trending statistic. Combatants get left out or reclassified. Claims of IDF snipers or drones hunting kids usually fail basic reality of sci-fi sniper drones that don’t exist or injury patterns coming out of the same hospitals.

These stories do not need years of investigation to collapse. Often Hamas’s own words or the available evidence do the job within days or weeks. But the first maximalist version is what spreads and sticks and then gets used to accuse the whole country of Israel and its army of genocidal intent.

It is not illegal or wrong to target and destroy your enemy in a war, especially one that started with a massacre, held hostages, and fights from inside the civilian population it claims to protect. Gaza is an awful war with awful conditions, conditions shaped heavily by Hamas’s tactics. That does not make it genocide. The aid that kept flowing, the vaccination campaigns, the water and power facilitation, and the way the propaganda claims kept falling apart all point the other direction. If you ignore all of that and still yell genocide the explanations left are ignorance or a double standard aimed only at Israel. But this entire stupid campaign every war in history is a genocide.

This is a superficial and ultimately destructive way of framing the problem.

Women deal with the profound biological burden of reproduction: menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. That is real, costly, and non-negotiable. No serious person denies it.

But the complementary burden that has fallen on men for the entire history of our species is equally non-negotiable and far more lethal.

Men have been the ones who die in war — by the tens of millions. Conscription, combat, and the obligation to stand between the tribe and existential threat have been almost exclusively male responsibilities.

Men occupy the overwhelming majority of the most dangerous occupations on the planet: commercial fishing, logging, mining, roofing, heavy construction, oil-rig work, long-haul trucking. The workplace fatality statistics are not subtle. Year after year, 90–95 % of occupational deaths are male.

Men also take more physical and psychological risks. That is why they invent more, explore more, and die younger — from accidents, from violence, from suicide. The male suicide rate is not a minor footnote; it is a catastrophic and chronic reality.

These are not interchangeable complaints. They are complementary sacrifices. One sex carries the primary cost of creating new life. The other sex carries the primary cost of protecting that life and extracting the resources necessary to sustain it from a dangerous and indifferent world.

To reduce the entire male side of this ancient division of labour to “what do men deal with?” as if the answer were “nothing of consequence” is not compassion. It is a deliberate refusal to look at the hierarchical and sacrificial structure of reality itself.

The proper response is not grievance. It is gratitude for the complementary burdens that have kept the species alive, and the individual responsibility to carry one’s own share of them without self-pity.

NEWS: SpaceX is tightening its supply chain to keep out Chinese nationals and Chinese made parts, Nikkei reports

Industry sources told Nikkei Asia that SpaceX is instructing suppliers not to employ Chinese nationals on production lines making its parts, even at facilities outside China and to drop Chinese made systems like Hikvision cameras and TP-Link networking gear.

The goal is to protect technology tied to US national security and NASA work.

SpaceX is also pushing a non-China, non-Taiwan sourcing approach to cut geopolitical risk.

SpaceX has not commented.

Après toutes ces vagues d’immigration en Espagne, je vais vous expliquer par A + B pourquoi une partie de la gauche a structurellement besoin de flux continus d’arrivées irrégulières pour rester au pouvoir.

A. Un immigrant qui vient d’arriver via le Maroc, interviewé dans la rue par Nate Friedman, répond sans détour : une fois papiers obtenus, il votera socialiste toute sa vie. Pas par idéologie profonde. Par rationalité simple : le parti qui régularise, qui donne accès aux aides, qui parle « droits », devient le clientèle naturelle.

B. Les électeurs natifs, eux, commencent à voir le coût (logement, écoles, sécurité, cohésion).

L’IA accélère brutalement cette prise de conscience. Les narratifs émotionnels qui ont fonctionné pendant 40-50 ans (division, victimisation permanente, « si tu critiques tu es méchant ») perdent de leur puissance quand tout le monde peut croiser les données en deux clics.

Résultat mécanique : plus les gens comprennent le deal, plus il faut importer de nouveaux électeurs fidèles pour compenser ceux qui partent. C’est de l’arithmétique électorale pure. On l’a vu aux États-Unis malgré la victoire de Trump. On le voit en train de se rejouer en Europe.

Ce n’est pas une question de « haine des étrangers ». La plupart des gens qui arrivent réagissent rationnellement aux incentives qu’on leur met sous le nez. Le vrai problème, c’est l’idée politique qui transforme l’immigration en machine à clientèle permanente plutôt qu’en processus d’intégration exigeant et sélectif.
Les mauvaises idées ne détruisent pas seulement les sociétés. Elles finissent par détruire d’abord ceux qui les portent : la confiance s’érode, la polarisation explose, les crises s’enchaînent.

Si les peuples européens ne reprennent pas le contrôle de cette dynamique très vite, on se dirige vers des sociétés de plus en plus fragmentées, à basse confiance, où la seule collure qui reste est la redistribution clientéliste.

L’histoire montre que ce genre de trajectoire ne se termine rarement bien.

Mais on n’est pas condamnés. L’IA retire les piliers de l’opacité. X retire le monopole narratif. La reconversion est toujours possible.

Le 21e siècle appartiendra à ceux qui construisent des sociétés à haute confiance, pas à ceux qui diluent sans cesse le capital social pour sauver un pouvoir.
