@GolfDigest Bye bye @CallawayGolf I don’t even want to admit how many thousands of dollars I spent on your clubs over the years but not a single dime in the future from anyone in our family.
@PGATOURComms@PGATOUR This whole thing is completely out of control. No more spending at @golfgalaxy@DICKS@PGATOUR for our family. Thousands spent every year on sporting goods and clothing for our family. We are just one family but hopefully more decide to stop supporting these companies.
@BrianCoey@LogicalMD33@gm__golf If we are saying it has distaste towards women because a small majority of accounts on the internet say it has distaste towards women ok we can go with that logic. REALITY, the ad was made in collaboration with women and was a bad skit. Nothing more.
@BrianCoey@LogicalMD33@gm__golf Man, we can agree the ad was just a bad ad. The way you describe it is intentionally inaccurate and reaching. You remind me of a college writing professor that made the class essentially describe the meaning of a chair in a picture. Sometimes a chair is just a fucking chair.
@BrianCoey@LogicalMD33@gm__golf How many views does pga get outside of majors? How many views does YouTube golf get? What is the difference of return on ad spend between the two? I honestly dont know. This “shrink” the game trend probably won’t play well long term for masses outside of the golf elitists.
@BrianCoey@LogicalMD33@gm__golf Do ads truly need to do anything? Anyone with money can make an ad and get it posted. Could be a blank page and people would find a way to be outraged over literally nothing. People going along with cancel culture will lose the most in the long run.
@KendoVT GG will be better off in the end. Not right away but will still be ok. The manufactured hate will die down eventually. Will be interesting to see how the overall sales and sponsors that pulled out fair WO GG. Typically doesn’t work out for those that go along with cancel culture.
@Timcast I just saw an old famous snickers commercial with violence towards the elderly on X that played on national TV all the time back in the day…no outrage back then. The world is just insane now. We have no hope lol
@gm__golf Don’t apologize man. You are showing how fragile and mentally unstable so many in this world are. They will spin anything to make themselves feel good and worthy of attention. So many in this world are mentally ill and it is on full display.
Meanwhile, the PGA Tour still has an opioid and sex addict as their Co-Chairman of PGA Tour Enterprises, Lead Player Director of PGA Tour board and Chairman of PGA Tour Future Competition Committee.
Is this really about that ad and outside pressure?
Or
Is this about an outlet that has become big enough that other golf outlets want to use this "pressure" to get rid of them, hence their newfound outrage? Where was that outrage after Tiger many indiscretions?
Is this "pressure" about the old school golf ecosystem wanting to maintain supremacy of golf over the new golf bros culture in golf?
Is this about the PGA Tour protecting their image now when in the past they turned their back on a woman who accused them of protecting a player who had been accused of domestic violence and an organization that welcomed back a domestic abuse convicted felon?
The PGA Tour misogynistic record is widely known and public. In the end the PGA Tour will do whatever is in their best interest no matter what. They will appease whoever they think is best for them to appease at the time.
I wonder if the same outrage and "pressures" happened if the ad was made by Golf Digest, Skratch Golf, or any of Tiger companies? Of course they know better to not do that. What if Good Good was represented by Excel Sports, do you think this "outrage" and "pressures" would have emerge or even be contemplated?
These stores better pull all the merch from any NFL team that has a player that actually beats a woman too. Better not see any Packers or KC Chiefs stuff this year on the shelves at @Target or @DICKS. No double standards. You wanna virtue signal then go all in. #GoodGood
