What a beautiful ending to an incredible flight and maybe it isn’t the ending after all. 🥹🚀❤️

After reentry, splashdown and 24 days at sea, S40 made it to calmer waters near Christmas Island. Now engineers get to learn from the ship itself, with hopes of bringing her all the way home to Starbase.

Just days ago, those fiery sunset images made it look like she was sailing off into the sunset for one last goodbye.

Now there’s land behind her, a recovery ship nearby, engineers on the way and S40 is still floating. 🌊🚢🚀

After approx. 24 days at sea, the SpaceX Recovery team successfully guided Starship to a location just off the coast of Christmas Island. A team of SpaceX engineers is on their way to conduct additional analysis on the vehicle in calmer waters before attempting to return it to Starbase

A total eclipse of the sunflower field. ☀️🌑🌻

The Moon passed between the Sun and Earth on Aug. 12, 2026, creating a total solar eclipse visible across parts of Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, the Atlantic Ocean, Spain, and Portugal.

This composite image captures the eclipse's progression over a field of sunflowers in San Millán de los Caballeros, Spain. During totality, the Moon completely blocked out the Sun, briefly revealing the Sun's outer atmosphere, or corona.
