Hey so... I got sent this and I'm hoping to clarify some issues so there's no misunderstandings.

1) Fox.. I have no idea what you're referring to about someone calling you a "rape apologist."

I cannot begin to fathom how in the world something like that even comes up in a conversation about Final Fantasy VII?

I never said anything like that about you, and I have no idea where you saw me associating with comments like that because I surely didn't.

2) Val, the timing is because this seems to be what the Clerith fandom is focused on. I'm mutuals with many people here that seem to be currently at odds with one another over a discussion that seems to have exploded.

I hope to remind people that we can have disagreements without it ever getting personal.. It's exactly my sentiment in #1 here, why would anyone be called a "rape apologist." I would image we all agree, that shouldn't be said, right?

3) Concerning my debating Clotis..

Debating someone doesn't mean you hate them. It also shouldn't foster animosity. I don't hate Clotis. Why would I? This shit is about a video game. I have many Cloti friends, as many people know; and I enjoy our discussions and debates.

I respect their right to have a difference of opinion. I just challenge those opinions. I think that's perfectly fine. However, when specific Clotis have said they're not interested in debate, I don't debate. I leave them alone to enjoy their ship.

I don't go out of my way attacking people on a personal level for their opinions and I rarely if ever just go after people for enjoying their shipping preferences. I don't care what ship it is... all of this is supposed to be in good fun, so let them have it.

That said, what's fun for me, is that I do like to challenge ideas and opinions, I enjoy debate, and I like critically assessing my own opinions. So we all can talk FF7, the game we all love, and that's what I personally enjoy.

Anyway, yes my goal here is to diffuse whatever situation this is, and I'd guess I'm not aware of a lot of the back and forth hence the generalized nature of my comments.

I'm just calling for people to remember the bigger picture here (this is a video game after all) and not go at one another.

I think that advice could be used across the spectrum of ff7twt, quite honestly...

@aerithsclouds Aerith used to say things that could be taken as brash and she could’ve had moments where she was called out on it and realized she needs to soften up in order to make friends. Tifa used to hold a lot of anger and jealousy and now she’s a pacifist people pleaser 😭😭😭
