On July 5, 1975, 50 years ago today, Arthur Ashe became the first Black man to win a #Wimbledon singles title.
I won the Wimbledon women's singles title the same year, and we shared a dance together at the ball.

Good news: In the first half of 2025, Baltimore had the fewest homicides ever recorded – 62% decrease compared to this time three years ago. The success we’re seeing here isn’t a coincidence, and it’s not limited to Baltimore.
But we can’t rest. In every community, we must continue to confront violence and do all we can to keep Marylanders safe.
Baltimore is built different, so we had to approach public safety differently, and it’s working.
We left behind the failed tactics and took on a bold, new, public health approach to gun violence. Now, we’re seeing record reductions across our city.
As of this morning, homicides are down 27.7% and nonfatal shootings are down 19.6% compared to this time last year.
Our continued progress is the direct result of the comprehensive, evidence-based public safety strategy that we have implemented in partnership with residents.
Join us tomorrow at 11:00am as we celebrate the 29th anniversary of @PastorRGaines and @sarahsays1207! Our special guests will be @MicahRGaines and the Greater Christ Baptist Church of Detroit, MI and the amazing @1tiffjoy of Chicago, IL! Get here early!
