I am so frustrated, as I believe every Christian should be, when a professed Christ-follower beats around the bush when confronted about the Bible’s stance on LGBTQ...

First, Christians can, and are at times, mean. But, when an opportunity like this presents itself with a woman who claims her parents are “fundamentalists”, who “disowned” her, & Christians are “unkind”, we need definitions of those terms.

Ask her to define them, and then respond. I guarantee she has redefined those terms to mean:

Fundamentalist = Irrational and hateful because they believe what the Bible says
Unkind = Refuse to accept and tolerate her sexual sin

This woman needs the truth, not a wishy washy, “sorry Christians are mean” response… Give her the truth found in God’s Word, not emotional empathy based on a one-sided portrayal from someone living in sin that God calls an “abomination” in His Word.

Interaction should not be full of shaming her for her sin, but reflect Christ with the truth of His Word, a call to repentance, and an invitation a life of peace, fulfillment & purpose through a relationship with Christ. She’s finding identity in her bisexuality, when it should be in Christ.

This was a massive missed opportunity that affirmed “her truth” that Christians are bigoted, intolerant, and unkind. What a shame…
