The cool thing about Marxism-Leninism is that we can actually do it in real life and it isn't just a fun thought experiment to build a subculture around.
@OldManTankie101 The whole dichotomy of slave vs feudal societies is also fairly misleading. It's been extremely historically rare to have "pure" versions of either. Ancient Egypt was primarily a peasant economy but their ruling class had a ton of slaves.
@OldManTankie101 Tbh I think the idea of historical progressiveness only really applies in an extremely broad historical view in agrarian MoPs. It's more that slave systems are prone to collapsing into peasant systems which in turn give space for the economic rise of the bourgeoisie.
It doesn't matter how much you do Communist LARP, what matters is how confident in interacting with non-communists you are.
A comrade in a funny hat who is respected and appreciated by their coworkers and neighbors is better than a socially isolated comrade in normal clothes.
@GlumBird Bit of a hot take but all the things Marx describes as AMoP are actually just characteristics of a Feudal MoP that's routinely interacting with a Nomadic Pastoralist MoP.
Security culture has people thinking that we're gonna have a revolution that will not involve any list building, memberships, or collective work really at all. I get the security concerns but seeing how hegemony "NEVER SIGN ANYTHING AT A PROTEST" is with ppl now makes me wonder
Not sure how it was in the rest of the country, but in Minneapolis I would sum up May Day as an excellent showcase of the rising subjective forces of revolution.
Metro Surge really galvanized the Twin Cities into militant leftwing organizing in a huge way.
Action 2 of May Day: A fucking great march down Lake Street in Minneapolis. This thing is huge, easily 5 blocks long. 3 separate sound trucks with unique programs from a wide array of organizations and unions.
ALL OUT FOR MAY DAY! HIT THE STREETS FOR WORKERS' & IMMIGRANTS' RIGHTS!
May 1st is set to see huge mobilizations, and FRSO is gearing up to hit the streets with everyone who wants to fight back against Trump & the billionaires.
My plan for vegetable gardening this year is to grow everything needed for banh mi (jalapenos, carrots, daikon, cilantro, and cucumbers).
Stay tuned for some extremely locally produced sandwiches this summer
@SecWar Increasing the lethality of the US military via the age old strategy of having your campaigning armies act as a major disease vector, Hegseth really does that Crusader mentality
I'm not even kidding about this, St. Louis, Lake, and Cook Counties are some of the only rural areas in the US where guerilla warfare would be effective.
โ Supportive locals
โ Dense tree cover
โ Limited infrastructure for conventional forces to operate from
BREAKING: The Senate just passed the legislation allowing the devastation of the Boundary Waters.
The motion passed 50-49, and now goes to Donald Trumpโs desk.
The way Republicans passed this bill that prevents future administrations from issuing protections for Superior National Forest, so this pristine land will be exploited in perpetuity unless Congress intervenes to reverse this decision.
The state of Minnesota can still block the Chilean mining corporation from operating in Superior National Forest and protect the Boundary Waters from pollution.
Since people are talking about Avatar right now, my only contribution is that the Air Nation would have been way cooler as Sky Mongols rather than being a bizarre entire society resembling the Tibetan theocratic elite.
Finished Dune Messiah recently and I'm incredibly glad Villeneuve isn't doing a 1:1 adaptation because like 95% of it is just people scheming until a tiny handful of events occur. Great themes but it would make a terrible movie.
๐จ EMERGENCY CALL TO ACTION: All out against Trump's war crimes on Iran!
Trump escalated his threats against Iran this morning, saying that "a whole civilization will die tonight." The time is now to organize and attend emergency response protests across the United States.
