Final tweet of the semester: It's unfortunate that we are no longer able to meet, as the conversations in our classes have been quite entertaining. I'm unironically hopeful that I will have more twitter classes.

The Marrow Thieves was a pretty depressing way to end the semester, ngl. It's not the end of studying literature though. Why didn't Wab tell anyone that she knew the traitors?

Anyway, since we are talking about Slenderman this week, I thought I'd talk about the other creepypasta, since this was a huge reminder that I had a pseudo "creepypasta" phase.

"Slenderman" became a part of an underground Internet culture in the late 2000s-early 2010s, joining the ranks of other Creepypasta folklore figures such as Jeff the Killer and Eyeless Jack.

@Ceceli55352627 Yeah. I noticed the same kind of thing in the babysitter stories: that the babysitters must have felt like they were being watched, and the babies weren't being watched.
@Ceceli55352627 I remember hearing about that as I kid! It's funny that you only hear these kinds of stories as a kid. The documentary also says that this was connected "La Llorana"
Also, never really talked about urban legends with my friends or family explicitly. It happens in ways we aren't aware. Though talks off a "bogeyman" popped along the way when we were young.

Man, people will believe anything๐๐. Just goes to show how we are. "Brunvand used his collection of legends... to make two points: first, that legends and folklore do not occur exclusively in so-called primitive or traditional societies [...]"
@F470
Reading "Marrow Thieves" couldn't be more timely. "โAnyway, in this story was all these people trapped inside their own town because the plague attacks them and they are put into quarantineโ #sdsuYA
I've realized that When The Moon Was Ours is themed around the idea of how we go through transformations in our lives, just like moon phases until we find ourselves completely, "In being lost, they became so many different people..." That's pretty clever.๐
