I've been standing in my wedding dress looking in the mirror and uncontrollably smiling for almost 20 minutes.

@ValeriaBrownEdu I teach in what is typically seen as an affluent high school, although I notice in our student population a range of financial situations. But we have an extensive security team led by a SRO. There have been threats to safety in the last few years so I'm very thankful for them!

Back to my youth ministry rant. I see this over and over, you scroll the church’s website and you see all the pastors in their nice church suits then you scroll to the bottom and you get to 35 year old Rad Brad with a giant hoodie sweatsuit on as the youth minister. /

@octopode4 Yes this! My compulsions are mostly related to list making, efficiency, and productivity but that also means I'm not always neat or organized and people don't understand that has nothing to do with my diagnosis!

I get the strangest looks when I bring up how seriously our jr. High took the Iditarod.

We spent months studying dog sledding in our reading class so we can make sleds pulled by humans and race each other in the park, being chased by the janitor dressed as a moose.

@KatieJayneEarl Its a small thing but a weighted eye mask has really helped me cope. It gives the pressure you need for some pain relief and its very soothing. It isn't a cure but its a tiny bit of relief in an otherwise horrendous situation.
