My suggestion to replace Tim Davie is Floella Benjamin. The life peer has a background in broadcasting, media regulation & has advocated tirelessly for children’s rights , greater diversity & better protection in children's media and programming .

Rest in peace the incomparable Pauline Collins, ‘Sarah’ in Upstairs Downstairs. In her first appearance in the drama all those years ago, she sang this song. I never forgot it, just like every role she played ever since. #PaulineCollins#UpstairsDownstairs
@richardmarson2 I have been reading your book today thinking about Pauline and Sarah and how brilliantly complex the character was. Nobody could have played her better. Had it not been for her I might not have stuck with the first episode and all the things I would have missed...
Thanks for all the love for Neda's poems. It has had a huge effect on her. She is filled with hope despite the restrictions on her life in Afghanistan. She wrote this in my zoom class today. She is still 11.
Thora Hird's performance in Alan Bennett's Talking Heads is always singled out, and quite right too. But Patricia Routledge's performance as Irene Ruddock in A Lady of Letters breaks your heart. I've never forgotten this scene.
Patricia was an incredible dramatic actress.
The internet shutdown in Afghanistan happened in real time in my online poetry class on Monday. The women's accounts dropped out one by one. The last to go was Neda. Just before her image froze, I promised to put her poem on Twitter. She's 11. Online was her last hope of education. @WRNAfghanistan
Oh no! I think I’ve left my leather satchel and laptop on an Overground train (Hounslow to Victoria) that I exited at Vauxhall at about 14.20. It has my MacBook in it. I don’t expect a miracle but I guess saying it out loud here is all I can do. It has lots of my work on it :(
Disgusted to see the cynical use of ‘Sit Down’by @TRobinsonNewEra.
No permission was granted, and we are looking into our options.
The song and most of our topical lyrics, make it very clear where we stand, and it’s the antithesis of this organization
Hoping this reaches @realDonaldTrump. I saw your confirmation that Charlie Kirk, someone who you loved, has died. During your first term, someone I loved, was murdered. My daughter Jaime was killed in the Parkland shooting. I had hoped to work with your administration then to reduce gun violence. I am sorry for your loss today. I would still love to work with you to stop the next one.
R.I.P. Terence Stamp, one of the last living links to that brief but glorious postwar era when the British class system briefly opened up enough for a tugboat stoker's handsome and talented son to become a superstar.
Supporting kids with Send is expensive. But the cost of not doing so is far greater | Carrie Grant | The Guardian - thanks to @theguardianfeed for giving me the opportunity to write about this important subject. https://t.co/ItbBDN7Bjf
“Chris Packham has pledged to “fight for hell” while threatening the government with legal action if they cut extra support in schools from children with special needs.”
