Right on that. The Indonesian FGM rite is often a needle prick of the clitoral hood, no actual tissue is removed. Meanwhile the United States routinely amputates a large, densely innervated sleeve of penile tissue from non-consenting infant boys. We’re talking 8-12 torturous minutes of an infant being restrained while massive amounts of tissue are being cut. But in the US if you do this exact needle prick to a girl, it is instantly a crime and a human-rights emergency. Truly incredible how low value an infant boy is in the US, just straight cattle you can inflict pain on with zero repercussions.

It’s always been intriguing to me that Indonesian and Malay culture let people see the reality instead of sanitizing it. They face what they do a bit more straight on, with family in the room and other children watching, rather than moving the same act behind hospital curtains on a newborn who cannot remember or verbally object.
Make no mistake, visibility does not make this MGM ethical. It does, however, remove the convenient fiction that the procedure is painless.
Americans are nothing but pussies on this. The US parents and the physicians both. The American hospital version moves the same cutting in a hidden room, onto a newborn who cannot speak or remember, and then wraps it in clinical language so the parents who authorized it never have to watch the very thing they ordered.
Show Americans the cut and the rate falls among anyone still capable of shame. Malaysia and Indonesia seem to refuse the clamp on newborns. Same with Filipinos, 10yo is the median age and zero clamps. These developing countries never adopted the American specialty of abject cowardice.

Photos like this from that era are uncommon; hospitals did not want this seen, rare find. But that smirk is what I cannot get past. The procedure is already over, the instruments are still on the table, and that physician looks quietly pleased while the infant is still on his back. No recognition that a newborn just had highly sensitive tissue crushed and cut. And since this was prior to the early 90's we know no anesthesia was used.
It hits harder because this was not some outsider. That doctor looks like a regular American physician doing this to his own people, in his own hospitals, to boys from his own community. I have no respect left for the generation that treated this as ordinary American medicine and then acted like those infants would never remember.

I agree. What hurts deeper is when the people doing the dismissing are other men who were cut the same way, sometimes even intactivists.
I expect the people who share the injury to be the ones who understand why the injury matters. Instead, some of them police the expression of it. They think that naming the loss and the psychological aftermath is unmanly. A lot of them want a clean “we’re just about parental education” campaign and treat anything that sheds this as sexual battery as an irritation.

A majority of citizens in the United States are in favor of routine/ritual foreskin amputation of infants and an even larger majority would be opposed to men getting civil and criminal justice for this atrocity. Men who openly express grievance over this are almost always shunned and mocked.

The problem here isn't just the jews, the politicians, the doctors, or clinical medicine.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the circumcised cohort is overrepresented in kink because a lot of those men are operating with a fraction of the nerve endings they were born with. When the head is desensitized and the shaft is a dry piston, vanilla friction stops being enough.. so you start hunting for psychological voltage instead. Intact Hispanics, intact East Asians, even Jews with looser CI-3 cuts? Far less interest. We need to adjust for income though e.g. would need to compare low-income whites to other demographics to see if this pattern still holds

X is decent for sure but I do agree with @Joseph4GI that some replies can be subtly hidden. On desktop, you have to click “show probable spam” where certain keywords trigger a reply to hide. Usually I see controversial or inflammatory replies hidden like this. I once tried to share a link to various circumcision techniques someone asked about, and it was hidden this way. Most likely the filter thought it was too graphic.

Very true regarding Jews during a Bris, they confront it for what it is. Traditional Mohel uses a shield that keeps the cut DISTAL to the glans, so only limited inner skin can be taken. Hands-on cutting is typically 45–60 seconds. The result is often relatively loose (many Jewish men end up around CI-3).

In contrast, RIC Gomco is the opposite with 8+ minutes of horrific cutting. The design allows far more tissue removal, especially inner skin.
RIC with Gomco is the worst version. The medical clamp is longer, more traumatic, and more extensive. If you watch a Bris video, you’ll notice the mohel is moving as fast as possible yet in the American medical circumcision the sadistic physician takes his time with the torture tool

I hear you.
I’ve only talked about it with my mom twice. The first time was pretty surface-level. She never actually saw the procedure itself because they wheeled me away, so she only saw the aftermath. To her, infant circumcision came across as nothing more than a quick snip that was over in a minute. The second time I wanted to show her expert testimonials. I really had to drive home how brutal it is, an infant screaming like that is something else. She couldn't finish the 1995 PBS documentary I sent because the unanesthetized cutting scene at 16:11 was too much for her and she refused to watch further. She feels bad about it, but she has zero interest in giving any detailed public testimonial and actual activism. Her thinking is that plenty of circumcised men "turn out fine and don't think about it" so she doesn’t see much reason to speak out the way I see other regret moms do.
