Socialists call capitalism “immoral” for allowing some to become super rich while others are poor. They have it backwards.
Capitalism has made nearly everyone more prosperous than our ancestors could even imagine:
"We are doomed and our leaders are insane," writes @mtaibbi.
Why?
Because despite what they say on the campaign trail:
"Not one of our presidents … can resist starting wars."
How presidents break their promises:
Former Gov. Gary Locke said Washington voters should focus on how a proposed millionaire's tax would be spent rather than simply whether it passes.
Locke said the state is already facing a budget shortfall and says the new tax alone would not generate enough revenue to cover both existing obligations and proposed new programs.
He questioned whether lawmakers would ultimately need to raise additional taxes or reduce spending if projected revenues fall short.
Locke said the long-term funding plan should be clear before the state commits to new spending promises.

Class action lawsuits have become FUNDRAISERS for the left.
Don’t believe me? Just look at the recent $62M Google settlement. Not a single penny of that went to the victims.
Millions, however, went to lefty groups like:
Pay there fair share? What do you think they have done for decades, to say nothing of the 1000’s of employees buying homes, purchasing cars, eating out, buying clothes and paying for services. Too many people with no idea of economics, pushing policies to generate more more more$$, never enough. How about they check spending and make govt cuts. Add to this the push to be a union shop, selling coffee. The union was the beginning of the end and you slander them for 9.00 cup of joe. What did you think would happen??
Combat veteran Nick Tran: "I am tired of white Americans being told that they should feel like strangers in their own country, and I'm saying that as an immigrant."
Candace, why spend your time and talent on celebrity feuds and internet drama? Even if every claim is true, it feels beneath the work you’re capable of.
I bought your book years ago and genuinely enjoyed it. It challenged me and made me think. This current chapter is far less compelling. Unless someone lives for gossip and infighting, there’s little value in it.
You built your reputation by tackling bigger ideas. I hope you’ll get back to that before this damages the credibility you’ve worked so hard to earn.
The great lie is that society is divided between rich and poor.
The great truth, as David Friedberg puts it, is makers vs takers.
Makers build, create, and deliver real value: houses, software, art, businesses, and everything that moves civilization forward.
Takers watch, criticize, analyze, and politic. They push the lie that the rich hoard unfairly so the poor must seize it… all while positioning themselves to rule the chaos.
As @friedberg tells his kids: “At the end of the day, if you made something and someone else valued it, you were a maker. That was an amazing achievement. That is a great day.”
Takers thrive on division. Makers drive progress.
Time to choose your side.
Elon just created 4,400 millionaires in a single day.
400 of them are now worth over $100 million.
These aren't VCs. They're SpaceX employees, and the list includes welders, technicians, and cafeteria staff, because for two decades the company paid every level of the workforce in stock instead of higher salaries.
Juan Hernandez immigrated from Mexico and took a $28 an hour contractor welding job in 2015. He says he didn't even know what SpaceX was. The company gave him a $10,000 equity grant and let him buy more shares through payroll deductions. That stake is now worth $880,000.
Trevor Hise's parents wanted him to take a stable job at General Electric. He picked SpaceX instead, stayed 12 years, and accumulated over 100,000 shares. At the $135 listing price that's $13.5 million. He's 37 and semiretired. His words: "The magnitude of this has been ridiculous."
The most telling detail came before the listing. Over 100 employees quietly banded together and negotiated a group wealth management deal covering up to $5 billion, because none of them had ever needed a wealth manager before.
Software IPOs have minted millionaires for 30 years. This is the first one where the money went to the factory floor.
Congratulations @ElonMusk.
Thanks to SpaceX's IPO, he's the first Trillionaire.
He didn't TAKE money from anyone. He CREATED wealth.
He launched satellites that connect even the poorest, most remote parts of the world.
Our world needs more MAKERS like Musk; fewer TAKERS like:
Democracy vs. Constitutional Republic
"The word "democracy" appears ZERO times in the Constitution. It also does not appear in the Declaration of Independence, nor does it appear in any of the Constitutions of the 50 states."
Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution mandates: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government", therefore explicitly establishing America as a Republic, NOT a democracy.
So the democrats are LYING when they call America a "democracy."
Democracy = mob rule = tyranny.
That's EXACTLY what they want, which is likely why they use the word repeatedly.
Why aren't we taught about this in school?
