K-12 students who game casually for connection are the majority & their data must be protected not harvested. Data-tracking companies advertising collegiate recruitment pipelines must have oversight & sharp boundaries. Their market is in the minority.
This is why we need trauma-informed gaming spaces on campuses. Students lean into gaming as a sanctuary in crisis— so it is there that we can meet them & wrap resources around them instead of expecting them to walk through clinic doors.
