Child advocacy is more than shouting “Say their names” or “Justice for Callan, Cora, and Dawson.” It's much more than standing outside of a courthouse screaming and carrying signs. It requires action.

Whatever your view of this horrific case, do something meaningful for children. Just as I have learned with my advocacy for Harmony Montgomery, the real fight is with lawmakers.

Following the Clancy trial, and in memory of three beautiful children, I will be seeking House and Senate sponsors for legislation I have drafted requiring clinicians and prescribers to address child safety and family-preservation planning when a parent reports thoughts of self-harm—without unnecessary state interference.

I hope those who actually care enough to do something positive for children will get behind this legislation once it is filed.

Real child advocacy is difficult. It is more than a post on X.
