I was reading a chapter on "False 9s & Argentines" in the book "Zonal Marking" by Michael Cox and there was a quote about Lionel Messi:

"But Messi was largely uncoachable, playing his own way. He's a purely intuitive player, which is why you have to give him freedom."

Recently, Pep Guardiola also stated in his press conferences that Rayan Cherki was "a little bit of a free soul".

We can draw parallels between the two only on this one premise, and to be clear, I don't see any player doing the things that Messi has done in his career but I am only drawing parallels in terms of role and playing-style.

@CitehSide He can reach Messi level output because he has a decent amount of shots but can go up however his conversion rate is still very very low and he's creativity is amazing but forward fatigue cost him a lot of other assists

Enzo Maresca shouldn't overthink the Premier League.

Just focus on building a team capable of getting 90+ points and the Premier League will take care of itself.
