Azerbaijan is now jointly producing Turkish unmanned naval vessels domestically.

President Aliyev visited a production line run by Azerbaijan's MIRAS and Türkiye's Dearsan Shipyard, inspecting two platforms.

The SALVO armed USV (15m, missiles and guns, recoverable) and the KAYRA kamikaze drone boat (7.6m, 60+ knots, rams targets with a warhead).

Both platforms are designed for Caspian coastal defense and energy infrastructure protection.

If you search Google for the settlement ‘Neft Daşları’, a municipality in Azerbaijan comes up.

So far, so unremarkable. A number of pictures appear showing industrial buildings and so on..

Search it on Google Maps, however, and something very odd happens.

Azerbaijan is literally building a neighborhood in Turkey.

The “Azerbaijani Quarter” in Kahramanmaraş is now almost complete, with 68 residential buildings and nearly 1,200 apartments, alongside schools, kindergartens and a cultural center.

The project was built for people who lost their homes in the 7.7-magnitude earthquake of February 6, 2023, one of the deadliest disasters in modern Turkish history.

Azerbaijan stepped in with the project as part of its support for Turkish earthquake recovery, with Ilham Aliyev saying Azerbaijanis saw the disaster as if it had happened to their own country.

Not just aid. Azerbaijan is leaving an actual piece of itself in Kahramanmaraş.

Azerbaijan was never part of iran. In fact there was no iran back then. The nation state of iran was founded in 1935.
Azerbaijan was part of the Qajar empire which ruled Azerbaijan Armenia persia etc.
The Qajars were Azerbaijani Turks.
If anything iran was part of Azerbaijan 🇦🇿.
