I'm Jewish, British & 64
All my life, I wondered how the Holocaust could have happened. I understood that Hitler & others were EVIL, but how did millions of ordinary people go along with it?
NOW, seeing how so many in the West rationalise & defend the Gaza Genocide, I feel I have an answer and it is profoundly disturbing
Israel bombs Lebanon
🇮🇱: Self-defense
Israel invades & occupies Lebanon
🇮🇱: Self-defense
Israel demolishes entire villages
🇮🇱: Self-defense
Israel displaces 1.2 million
🇮🇱: Self-defense
Israel kills thousands
🇮🇱: Self-defense
Israeli SOLDIERS killed IN LEBANON
🇮🇱: Violation!
So if you apply this logic to the 4,000 citizens of Lebanon that Israel has killed in their invasion, you’d have to ask how the US would react to an invading force killing 235,000 Americans, many of them women and children.
You really don’t want to do this calculation for Gaza.
I have never heard of a country invading a neighbor and then calling it unfair that their soldiers died in that invasion. I don’t think any other country ever even thought to make that complaint.
On top of that, Israel now wants to retaliate for its soldiers being killed while invading their neighbor.
This is pure madness. Just leave Lebanon.
In the richest country on earth, millions of people can't afford healthcare, housing, childcare or other basic necessities.
We don't need tax breaks for billionaires, more military spending, endless wars and a White House ballroom.
We need to improve life for the working class.
If you were to write this headline or article in a variety of US, UK, German or French media outlets, your career might be on the line and you’d probably be accused of antisemitism.
And yet the author of this piece is a former prime minister for Israel.

As we await the final results, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Thank you to everyone who stepped up. Your donation, your time, your vote – it brought our movement further and spread our message wider than the system told us was possible.
I can’t wait for what’s next.
It’s been the honor of my lifetime to stand shoulder to shoulder with you in this fight.
I ask for your vote for Governor of Maine today, not so I can go to the Blaine House, but so I can take you all along with me.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Thank you, @berniesanders. This Tuesday, June 9th, we will show the Democratic Party that this is the party of the working class. In November, we will win.
This isn’t just a campaign. It’s a movement.
Now’s our shot to take Maine back from the corporations, the oligarchs, and the bought-off politicians who control it. I ask for your vote on this Tuesday, June 9th.
The status quo is doing everything it can to keep a working class Mainer from becoming Governor.
Here’s why. When we win this thing on June 9th, and again in November, I’m taking all of you along with me.
I’ve had a lot of jobs in my life. My job as a father is the most important of all. During this primary campaign, I found out I’m going to be a grandpa as well. I couldn’t be more excited.
The time we have with our families is the most precious thing in the world. I want working Mainers to have more time for what matters. That’s what this race is all about.
A full house in Orono! Thank you Alejandro and Katie for having us.
Together, with candidates like Mike Tipping and Jim Dill on the ticket, we are going to bring forth a new era for the state of Maine.
They said we had no chance. They said I’d pissed off too many powerful people along the way. They said we couldn't win without corporate PAC money, fancy galas, and backroom deals with billionaires. They said I should go back to the woods.
All that time, the working class knew something they didn't. There’s more of us than there are of them. And we’re rising. On June 9th, we're going to win.
