We talk about ease of doing business in India and compare it with China, there’s one big difference I’ve noticed:

In India, no one wants to feel accountable.

Let me share my experience with one of India’s biggest shipping companies, Delhivery.

I’m a co-founder of an electrolyte brand. We sent two packages worth almost ₹1lakh to Ladakh for the Ladakh Marathon because we wanted to sell them at the event.

They failed to deliver them and shipped them back to us.

For the next 40–45 days, there was no update on where the packages were. We kept following up, but nobody gave us a clear answer.

After 45 days, they told us the packages were lost and simply closed the case.
We were shocked by the lack of accountability. No explanation, no apology, no guilt. Just, “It’s lost.”

And when we asked why, how it happened, or what the next step was, nobody had an answer. Delhivery team doesn’t answer calls. We tried reaching out to different people, and most of them either said, “It’s not my department,” or cut the call.

Our team got stuck in an endless loop.

Shipping aggregator says to contact the shipper.
Shipper says to contact someone else.
Delhivery team doesn’t answer.

And the biggest loser is the entrepreneur who is willing to do business.

I’ve dealt with Chinese suppliers and logistics companies before, and the difference in accountability and service is very noticeable.

They are desperate to do business with you. They take ownership, respond quickly, and try to solve the problem.

That’s what ease of doing business should feel like, not this, definitely!

@amazonIN unable to return item, @delhivery keeps canceling. Order number: 407-9938156-2432333 - they have never called, I just keep getting unable to pickup notifications.

We sold our spiritual home in Highbury; sold our best players; handicapped our greatest ever manager; All to compete at the highest level in the premier league.

Manchester City saw the same rules, in the same league, and decided to cheat.

Tear Man City limb by limb

The Election Commission of India is under fire like never before.

The SIR has struck 13 crore names off draft rolls, putting the EC at the centre of intense public debate over its role in deciding who gets to vote — and who doesn’t.

HOWEVER, what nobody knew: through that same period, some of the sharpest questions were being asked from inside.

Out today, after months of work. Our #ExpressInvestigation 🧵

This is what China did:
80s & 90s: Mass literacy.
End 90s: Huge investment in STEM graduates.
2005: Huge increase in STEM PhD volumes.
2015: Investment in PhD quality with Double First Class.
2025: AI education compulsory from primary.
They invested and built for the future.
I guess we'll get there once we sort out our past.

@laurielaker Should have had the courage to say he won’t take the vaccine and face the consequences (not being selected to play, not being able to go to vaccine-mandatory places).

@fkhanage @AFCAMDEN Its not the loss, its that we didn’t turn up. Our weaknesses were found out, and they will be exploited until we fix them. While the first two goals were low xG, we were thoroughly outplayed.

Remember: everyone has a test environment.

Some people are lucky enough to have a separate production environment.

I am not surprised. I am angry. This is exactly what happened in Hitler's Germany. Fascism is unfolding before our eyes.
The Anand Niketan School in Ahmedabad, Gujarat was fined ₹10,000 by authorities for keeping books like Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl and Malala Yousafzai’s I Am Malala in its library. These books were "optional". They also terminated the services of a curriculum consultant.
Ahmedabad citizens decided to read books in public to protest against this action. BJP/RSS goons attacked in large numbers. The police has refused to register an FIR.
