@brianphillips_7 Great man. Real servant to the sport. There was a documentary made in the 90s which shows Peter taking the lads from Vauxhall ABC to New York. A very young Paul Butler boxes Juan La Porte's son. Bet it's still online somewhere.
@brianphillips_7 He is indeed, mate. Coaches at the old club, Vauxhall Motors in the Port. It's called Wirral CP now. Peter Phelan was the head coach back when Paul was a kid. Think he's still there as chairman these days.
@brianphillips_7 It was amazing mate. Always wanted to train there, and it didn't disappoint. One of many reasons I love this sport: what other sport would that happen in - where you can just go and train with a hall of fameer, ex world champs all over the place. Was talking to him for ages.
@brianphillips_7 Haha! Was there myself last summer, mate. Did a few rounds of pads with him and Justin Juuko and had a good chat with them all. Dead down to earth.
@PaulSmithJnr Any thoughts on having some writers on, Paul? I know youโll be having people on from outside the city but I can think of a few Liverpool writers I'd love to see with you and your brothers.
@JazzaDickens10 Great question, that. Only possibility I can think of is Tyson Vs McNeely. I'm counting Tyson as the Goliath here though, despite the fact McNeely was the bigger man.
Waterloo Road new series available right now on BBC iPlayer and from 9pm tonight on BBC1. I have it on very good authority that the finale is a real belter (as is the whole series of course!)
