@ermate I’ll admit there’s always a need for dialogue to keep posts such as these relevant and on the pulse…. Maybe there’s a way and maybe I’m just being a bit pessimistic but I’d hate to see such pivotal roles devolve into popularity appointments…. Just my penny’s worth
“There’s real danger that the risks of staying too long in hospital will be transferred to care homes, especially where placements are rushed, with little access to rehabilitation & enhanced health care or in places far away from home.” @GeriSoc https://t.co/6dUJoduHFZ
@theRCOT@RCOT__Karin Surely there’s a bridge here between training social workers and therapists? Seems to me in a world where we acknowledge closer working and integration is a gold standard, we’re looking at the problem backwards and not thinking where can start that journey at the beginning….

@DHSCgovuk My personal take on this is that we need to think further than the ends of our own noses…. More community beds require more community staff and reablement otherwise all we are doing is limiting the potential for people to return to independence. Think about the community!!!
Very special day for #plymouth’s Teresa Barrett from @livewellsw who is in Parliament for the Social Worker of the Year Awards that she won! Proud day for Teresa and proper recognition of social workers as a profession. Well done Teresa!
