The white middle aged liberal woke brigade are the biggest problem.
Our children deserve better…
A quick retweet, if you would……
Sities can’t help herself! The first-time mum, who gave birth just 12 days ago, is living wild and free to go wherever she chooses — yet she keeps returning to Ithumba, parading her new baby in front of the Keepers who raised her.
As honorary grandparents — Sities is an orphan rescued, raised, and rewilded through our Orphans’ Project — we are equally excited.

Juni leads the ‘Voi Kids’ as they charge in for their midday milk bottles.
Our focus then moves to Ashanti, as she takes her fill. An orphan of drought, she had the added disadvantage of a severed trunk! But, she’s never let that hold her back, even when browsing, where she twists her trunk around branches to pull off all the leaves.

Baraka’s name means “blessing” in Swahili, and it couldn’t be more fitting. She has overcome so much and now has the chance to reclaim a life in the wild, surrounded by her new family.
Surviving both a poacher’s snare and the devastating 2022 drought, she found solace with our Voi herd, where older girls like Godoma have taken her under their wing, showering her with love and care.

Taroha's having a great time exploring a stream; his trunk splashing in and out of a mini waterfall! His playful curiosity reminds us just how far he’s come — from a lone, vulnerable calf to a young bull with a soft, nurturing side: He's recently taken to spending time with our youngest orphan, Wamata.
To our many foster parents: You make joyful scenes like this possible. Your support helps us give orphaned elephants the care and love they need to reclaim their wild lives when grown.

At #7 in our countdown, we have ever-enthusiastic Korbessa urging Keeper Joseph to speed up the all-important milk prep! Did you know that infant orphans are bottle-fed every three hours, around the clock? While preparing the bottles is usually a one-man job, the orphans are always eager to lend a helping trunk!
Moments like these remind us how deeply the Keepers and orphans bond — and how vital your support is in making their care possible.
