@RadioFreeTom Jesus Christ Tom, leave us out of this. Canada wants to be ignored by our friends down south for a while. Give us a moment and we will all be friends when this is over. Okay?
“We must preserve Canada, this country handed down to us by providence, preserved by our ancestors and held in trust for our descendants. We must make any sacrifice necessary to preserve the independence and the unity of this blessed land.”

Members of the House and Senate who are voting to deny Ukraine assistance on the 85th anniversary of Neville Chamberlain’s 1938 “peace in our time” speech should read some history: Appeasement didn’t work then. It won’t work now.
Air Canada pilots value our passengers above all else. Today’s picket is to showcase our unity and resolve, as well as our loyalty to our fellow Canadians, who deserve no less than a reliable aviation network with experienced pilots in the flight deck.
Fr. Mychal Judge at Mass for the re-dedication of the FDNY's E-73/L-42 on September 10, 2001. There were FDNY members in attendance, including Fr. Judge, who would be killed the next day at the World Trade Center. Poignant remarks about what being a fireman is all about. RIP.

“Revenues for the PepsiCo, Mars and Mondelez companies, which produce a wide range of consumer goods, soared in Russia in 2022 in annual terms, according to a report from the Bloomberg news agency on Friday. Companies had "roaring sales" after the start of the Russian special military operation, the news agency said. Revenues of the Russian division of Mondelez, most known to consumers by its Alpen Gold chocolate brand, surged 38% to 92 bln rubles ($1 bln) in 2022 and the net profits of the company increased twofold year on year. Sales of the Russian subsidiary of Mars saw an upsurge of 14% compared to 2021 to 177 bln rubles ($1.93 bln) in 2022.
Pepsi’s revenues in Russia gained 16% and their net profit moved up by a factor of four. Changes in the pricing policy, higher sales owing to the exit of competitors and lower advertising expenses in Russia are among the main drivers for such growth in financial metrics, the news agency said. At the same time, cross-border money transfers among foreign parent companies and local Russian subsidiaries remain difficult. Furthermore, companies are expected to be hit by a 10% windfall profit tax to be imposed on Russian majors. “

Commanders discretion should not be routinely relied on.
It may be used to modify FTLs in unforeseen circumstances or unexpected events that could not be preempted.
It is a choice that should not be influenced and crew must not be and should not be coerced into acceptance.
"Unfortunately, it is Albertans' turn to face critical route cuts in light of the pilot shortage. Our fellow pilots in the US are paid 50-300% more than pilots at Air Canada. Air Canada is losing routes and is risking losing pilots to US carriers as well"
