@WesleyMorganSHS Interesting,I think of energy as real, & forces as redundant to energy explanations. Matter seems like a special manifestation of energy. Both forces & energy are inferred from accelerations, so both models start from the same epistemological place;I think energy as more flexible
@pwharris I use dimensional analysis in physics, so I observe this as (4 * 1) / (5 * 2) = 4 / 10 in a similar way to 4 g / 5 x 1 mol / 2 g = (4 g * 1 mol) / (5 * 2 g) = 4 g•mol / 10 g = 2 mol / 5
Interceptor 006 by @TheOceanCleanup has successfully prevented around 3,000,000 kg of trash from reaching the Caribbean Sea in the last five months.

One pretty cool geological fun fact is that the Appalachian Mountains, the Atlas Mountains, the Scottish Highlands, the Watkins Range and Scandinavian Mountains were all once part of the same mountain range, the Central Pangean Mountains
Billiard balls collide with nearly perfect elasticity & kinetic energy in their motion is almost completely preserved: very little dissipates into heat. This makes it a great sport to analyze mathematically

@AkiyoshiKitaoka This didn't work for me either; whereas your other images reliably facilitate an illusion of motion. Could there be a stronger variation in how this image is seen by a population compared to your other images? There may be something interesting here...
(Thread) In the first What If? book, I answered a question about cooking a steak by dropping it from space. At one point, I commented—jokingly!—that if anyone put a steak in a hypersonic wind tunnel to gather better data, I’d love to see the video.
Well, I have good news.

The three-quark model of a proton may be elegant, but this simplicity comes with shortcomings. Physicists have known for decades that the proton is much more than three quarks. https://t.co/SU1SYg2rAh
