Problem:
In our busy and noisy school, #2ndGrade Ss have no quiet space to record their podcasts!

Solution:
Use the #EngineeringDesignProcess to #design & #create mini sound booths that Ss will use to record their literacy-based #podcast series!

Using #DesignThinking, they’re identifying problems they experience on campus, thinking of fantastical ways to solve them, sketching & labeling their ideas & then building prototypes.

How do our senses impact our learning?

G1 Ss investigated issues that affect their senses in the classroom & embarked on self-chosen, individualized project paths to design & prototype solutions for themselves & peers. We celebrated by sharing their process w/ our community!

These G2 Ss had the privilege of virtually collabing w/ Paula Bontá herself, one of the co-creators of @OctoStudioApp! She led an #OctoStudio Fest- a celebration of all things winter & creativity. Ss lined up to proudly show off their work & ask ?s to our visiting expert!

I had the privilege of supporting this incredible class thru some powerful #PBL! This teacher gave an absolute master class in how to design & implement PBL in early years -Ss get full choice on project paths! (at 4 yrs old. Imagine!) Here Ss are investigating & researching 🙌 🧠

Impactful #beebot/math integration!

Challenge #1: Ss stumped partners by creating coded algorithms to represent 2-digit #’s

Challenge #2: Ss attached markers to #beebot & coded jumps of 10 to create # lines to represent big equations

Goal: engage Ss & get math off of the page

MS drama Ss used the #DesignThinking process to design & write plays based on books from the lower elementary library. Their final product was to perform the plays for our young Ss. They received feedback post-performance & will use it to improve their work!

Led a successful caregiver workshop for Digital Citizenship Week! 💻 From screen time to digital footprints, we covered it all. Kudos to caregivers for rolling up their sleeves & getting hands-on with this critical learning! 🙌 #digcitweek Thanks @CommonSense for the resources!

4 year-olds design, too! These little nuggets are challenging themselves to get the 💡’s from their 🧠 and get them on 📝 before building them and bringing them to life.

Ss used the #design process to bring their #writing to life creating 3D worlds of their stories with #LEGO🏗️ They then used their builds to inspire the revision process & were able to add more details adjectives & length to their original stories!
