@WysWyg_Protogen I don't hate using inline Molex connectors. They can be a bit stiff to disconnect and they're very low-density, but they're easy to assemble and pretty reliable.
Then again, I'm also eyeing this thread looking for new options, soβ¦
@billgoats I have one of these! Needed extra power for a LTE modem on a Raspberry Pi. Every couple months Amazon e-mails me a product question from someone who has ignored all of the other reviews/questions and wants to know whether it can be used to connect one device to two computers π€¦ββοΈ
@lunasorcery@__phantomderp As a complete Rust outsider hoping to write a simple CLI tool, I was pretty dismayed to find that `clap` pulled in umpteen transient dependencies and added seconds of compile time. Felt like a Node dependency βΉοΈ
@whitequark It's not just laptops: I once used a Dell monitor that periodically got stuck in sleep and wouldn't wake up again until after it had been fully powered-down (unplugged for a couple minutes). Only time I've ever had a monitor regularly crash on me.
@ryancdotorg Or is your point that an attacker won't try to brute-force longer mixed-case, alphanumeric passwords at all, and that if they do try anything, they will only try lower-case alphabetical or dictionary combinations?
@ryancdotorg If you generate a four-word, lowercase, alphabetical password, aren't you still saved by length alone if the attacker thinks they're bruting a mixed-case, alphanumeric password?
@jeffeb3 @Thoosenshmirtz @d_feldman Every dollar put into lobbying for legislature to enable autonomous vehicles is a dollar that would go far further if used to fund public transit. AVs are a dream of the wealthy to keep themselves safely isolated from the proles. There's no world where they're the best solution.
And it's impressive that it works as well as it does in those scenarios! The tech is mind-boggling. But I prefer tools that work consistently over ones that are cool, and even after years of development, Face ID is still WILDLY less consistent than Touch ID.
I've had this iPhone 13 mini for a few weeks now (upgraded from a SE 1), and my biggest gripe is the side-mounted power button. Because of the symmetry with the volume buttons, I keep hitting volume up + power, taking a screenshot instead of turning off the screen.
