@DaleVince Without batteries how do we cope with the evening demands or are we only having the lights on when the suns out? If we moved all energy to solar we’d either need enough storage to last all day or all countries to share energy surplus in different time zones
@DanielPriestley@lynz_h55 Footballers are paid millions so clubs can justify high ticket prices so clubs can make more money to pay to execs. If footballers wages were capped at a £1million do you think they’d go and work in Tesco instead and refuse to play
@ladbible The digital ID will be created for you, it won't need to be on your phone. They can link it to all your financial and social media accounts, passport and driving license and to your HMRC records without any acceptance from you
@Feargal_Sharkey@Ofwat How many people are lining up with their £22billion in hand to buy a failing water company. It’s worth what someone’s willing to pay and right now it’s a poor investment if you have to run it legally and make improvements, without rinsing customers further
@premnsikka Hard to find someone that wants to buy a failing water company, that only needs investment, without taking “profits” out, in the private sector. Some might say impossible
@CatHobbs Imagine you're skint, your washing machine breaks, and you take out an emergency loan for a new one. You spend the money on a fancy steak dinner instead and then wonder why you can't get the washing done. And they think they're top talent who deserve a bonus with logic like this
@DaleVince Will it push the cost of energy up for all the people who can’t afford new builds or solar and battery storage? They’ll be left at the mercy of the energy companies who will need to compensate for lower sales to retain profit levels with higher prices and charges
@premnsikka Do we need to guess that the companies being paid for the work are linked to the WC owners. If it was any other industry inflating costs to hide financial transactions it would be money laundering surely
@premnsikka In the end do the world's governments just make extra tax revenue in the form of tariffs as a non tax, tax on people that spend money on goods and services?
@David__Osland Or maybe it’s that the basics such as energy, water and housing have become so expensive that minimum wage jobs can’t afford them. Reduce the cost of living and wages suddenly become acceptable. If you made minimum wage £25 the profiteering corps would only raise prices again
@Simon__Greaves And they keep telling us it’s a lack of capacity in the NHS that’s an issue. We have staff and facilities and just need patients. Maybe the waiting lists are gone now 🤔
@premnsikka Should be made to make £40m of upgrades to the network or it’s just another tax on people going to government and the bill payer always pays.
