Finally got round to setting myself up in the new space if fresh thinking - same details if people want to find me, but no guarantee that posts will be more frequent or coherent
@Miss__Angell If anyone from @TeamRE_UK#TeamRE is in the Reading or Berkshire area, then do get in touch with Jess.
She has done amazing things with History in her current post, and will be great in her new one too
@Josephineperry Any that is vague enough that I open it, but isn't related to my child (e.g. - Trip to 'x') and when opening the email it is specific to a certain group, but was still sent to all parents
We are looking for a RE teacher to join our brilliant department. The subject is highly valued by the school and students are lovely.
Any questions, please feel free to DM.

Bit more detail for anyone considering following the link
10 form entry, with 3x50 minute lessons a fortnight in KS3, equal with other Humanities
OCR GCSE option, plus Core provision for all.
Starting AQA Philosophy KS5 from Sept
Opportunity to teach across all KS if suitable
@CNewmanTeach Can't make the 7th.
I know roughly what I want in terms of layout - really just trying to work out if I design and print internally, or try and make them a bit fancier and whether that means they feel more valuable as a resource
If people use booklets for lessons, are these a centrally designed and printed resource or in house creations?
Looking to create an anthology of key texts, but want to have space to write on each spread - wondering about if we can get this done formally
@RE_McGEE Do staff/students view them differently depending on the quality of printing?
Trying to decide if we want to 'splash out' and make them more professional to highlight the significance of them, or go basic and hope that A-Level makes it clear
@RE_McGEE Do they have fancy covers? In terms of thicker paper etc - like the English poetry ones?
Do you know what printers are used - our A-Level text anthologies will be important so I want them to look significant
@Lisa_0Connor I am thinking for A-Level too - do you get fancy covers on them, or just normal paper?
In my head I am imagining ones like the printed specs/English poetry anthologies that look higher quality
@scandalon_rs@AQA@puzzlevardy Have you seen the Michael Lacewing webinars - think they used to be in person but are now online
One per topic, spread over a few weeks
@EducatingAlison I think both play a role - student views, understanding and prior knowledge changes, as does the discussion about the concepts - so we need to consider both.
Also aware there is the role of the topic in the wider curriculum - so any changes impact on other topics
Currently working through an interesting dialogue in my head. School has just reached an anniversary and there some topics we still teach from 10 years ago. The question is about whether any topic should have that longevity (it has been tweaked at points)
Might need to try and dig out the original scheme, and compare it to now. Or sketch out a 'new' scheme on that topic to work out what would be consistent - although this might be influenced by the current content
Obviously some core knowledge doesn't change, but response, understandings and opportunities have all moved on - the tweaks have been to keep up with considerations of disciplinary thinking, but question of whether it needs to be a blank canvas
