@Mathowitz I don't disagree, but you thnk this is something we should change? How? Students can't compute volume if they can't compute area. They can't understand linear equations or the unit circle without understanding the coordinate grid. This feels like a fake problem with no solution.

@advanced_ict @MathsDotScot @BracewellMr It's not necessarily that math teachers lack education, but in different contexts, the answer might be different. If I have students solving quadratic equation with square roots and they apply the square root to a number, they should have 2 answers (+/-).

There are already restrictions on equipment in golf (driver size, ball dimples, wedge grooves), but this proposal goes too far.

@MrCorleyMath @Mathowitz Maybe they would be the longest still, but it's against the spirit of professional competition to intentionally restrict what the best in the world can do. The only reason NASCAR has restrictor plates is for safety. Not so the race tracks seem longer.

@MrCorleyMath @Mathowitz But as pointed out in the article, the NBA didn't raise the rim. Just let the big hitters hit and enjoy the brilliance of professional golf. I don't see the point in this. If a pro golfer plays a 325 yard hole they either drive it or hit a 4 iron. No biggie.
