Hell is empty, and all the devs are here.
Or at least, that’s how crypto feels some days. We’ve built enough infrastructure to run a small digital empire - L1s through L3s, omnichain bridges, tokenization pipes, launchpads, marketplaces, wallets, high-frequency traders playing musical chairs with liquidity -but somehow, the app layer still looks like a half-finished cathedral. Beautiful scaffolding. Sparse stained glass.
The irony? The internet didn’t win because TCP/IP was elegant (though it was) or because the average American in 1999 wanted to learn what a packet was (they didn’t). It won because the apps showed up. Because email beat the fax. Because browsers beat phonebooks. Because the App Store turned the iPhone 4 into Excalibur.
Technologies only ascend when consumers can touch them. And consumers don’t touch chains; they touch apps.
Crypto hasn’t had its iPhone 4 moment yet. Not really. We’ve had flashes:
@Polymarket, a deterministic casino with an oracle attached.
TCG bridges like @NBATopShot@Courtyard_io@beezie bringing cardboard and collectibles on-chain.
@opensea, the early bazaar.
@farcaster_xyz, the social experiment with actual soul.
@HyperliquidX trading, dopamine, buybacks with a public ledger.
But these are scattered fireflies, not a constellation. Breakout apps, yes but not clustered in one ecosystem, not enough gravitational pull to bend developer mindshare.
This is why I’m so bullish on @ApeChainHUB and @apecoin. Because for the first time, we’re watching an ecosystem intentionally build toward an app-layer singularity. Not just the rails. Not just the liquidity. Actual experiences that people want to show up for.
And in that light, the app layer being built on ApeChain looks less like “early crypto” and more like “early mobile.” The ecosystem is lining up its iPhone 4 moment - whether people realize it or not.
Exhibit A: @OthersideMeta - Crypto’s First True Metropolis
The doors have swung open to the Koda Nexus. Think Stormwind. Think Orgrimmar. A living hub, a cultural capital, a city that evolves every few weeks.
But here’s the real magic:
The wires of crypto are invisible.
Log in with X or email. You’re instantly given a self-custodied wallet behind the curtain. Everything you collect, craft, build, or earn lives on-chain without you lifting a finger to understand seed phrases or RPCs.
Call it the anti-bolt-on approach: crypto baked directly into the substrate.
It’s not just a world you explore; it’s a world you own pieces of.
It’s a world where creators have programmable royalties, permissionless rails, instant payments, and full control.
It’s also crypto’s first world-scale canvas for IP collaboration:
- @AMZNVideoGames first NFT
- @DanielArsham's digital avatar
- A full-blown marketplace baked directly into the Otherside for peer to peer commerce at scale
- User-generated games like Bathroom Blitz by @cmndline & Outbreak
- Land (Otherdeeds) powered by devkits and generative AI so creators build without friction
Otherside isn’t just another metaverse claim. It’s the first real attempt to merge cultural fandoms, crypto-native ownership, and mass onboarding into one evolving city.
And it’s all ApeChain-native. Powered by $APE.
Exhibit B: @apechurch - The Uniswap of Chance
If Otherside is crypto’s city, ApeChurch is its cathedral of pure onchain sorcery.
ApeChurch asks a simple question:
What if games of chance were as decentralized, transparent, and user-owned as DeFi itself?
Here’s how it flips the industry:
1. Liquidity Sink: Anything → $APE
Deposit anything, play instantly.
Behind the scenes:
Liquidity converts to $APE
Deposited $APE enters the decentralized liquidity pool
Sell pressure decreases
Capital efficiency increases
Users earn real yield from real usage
A casino that strengthens its native token instead of draining it?
That’s a first.
2. Onchain Games as a Platform, Not a Product
Every game is custom built.
Every partner can plug into the decentralized liquidity pool.
Every IP - from memecoins to NFT communities - can spin up branded games with instantly scalable jackpots.
That’s not just a casino; it’s an app factory.
3. Transactions That Mean Something
Each play triggers ~3 transactions:
Real token velocity
Real wager volume
Real liquidity movement
Fully transparent RNG oracle
Most “crypto casinos” are centralized hard drives wearing DeFi cosplay.
ApeChurch is the opposite:
No custody. No keys. No black boxes. No funny business.
4. Speed, UX, and the Secret Sauce
On most chains, fully onchain gaming is a UX nightmare.
On ApeChain?
- Lightning-fast blocks
- Social wallet onboarding
- Instant RNG
- Multiple games per minute
- Crypto finally feels… fun.
5. A Permissionless Protocol for Games of Chance
ApeChurch is so decentralized you don’t even need the frontend.
Call contracts directly.
Build your own UI.
Extend the protocol.
Fork it. Remix it. Push it into new IP.
It’s DeFi with dice.
Uniswap with unpredictability.
A liquidity layer for chance itself.
And it’s entirely ApeChain-native. Powered by $APE.
The Return to True DeFi
Most of what parades around as “DeFi” today is semi-centralized middleware.
Custodial backdoors for UX.
Shadow permissions.
Convenience disguised as decentralization.
But the pendulum swings back.
It always does.
Protocols like ApeChurch and worlds like Otherside restore the core promise:
self-custody, transparency, autonomy, ownership, permissionless creativity.
This is the why of blockchains.
The App Layer Is Culture. And Culture Wins.
This is why the product team keeps returning to the roots of the club:
- Utility for tokens
- Places for communities to gather
- Activities that reinforce identity
- Minigames with microburns and $APE-denominated economies
- Builder pipelines like Vibe Code Camp
- Discovery tools, loyalty programs, and ecosystem-level incentives
- RAID to bring $APE utility across chains and platforms
This is how you seed an ecosystem.
This is how you earn developer loyalty.
This is how you ignite the “iPhone 4 moment” for crypto.
Apps aren’t just features—they’re behavior engines.
They pull people in. They keep people in.
They define what a chain is.
And right now, ApeChain is assembling a slate of apps- worlds, games, liquidity engines, cultural playgrounds -that could become the beating heart of onchain consumer crypto.
Not more infrastructure.
Actual experiences.
A gravity well.
We are all ApeChain-natives.
Our ecosystem is powered by @apecoin.
And we are just getting started.
The launch of Nexus in Otherside is truly a very important milestone, one we've been waiting for for a long time, and it was worth it! It's so cool that words simply can't describe it. You have to experience it with us as you complete numerous quests, collecting XP and badges!
@OthersideMeta@BoredApeYC@CryptoGarga@TheeHustleHouse always on TOP!
There are more collectors than flippers holding, but there are more flippers than collectors buying right now. I don’t see that changing until more people come back to the space, which I do see happening, but you’ve got to change your time horizon.
That happens when web3 gaming just becomes gaming. @OthersideMeta is the best shot at that happening now.
As millions of people come on and hold $ape and use in @OthersideMeta and on ApeChain, OG BAYC will once again have more collectors buying as the premier PFP digital asset. I’m not counting Punks here because I think it’s a different class.
We are starting to see just how hundreds of millions, and soon billions, will atleast have easy access to the ecosystem. @AMZNVideoGames, @binance, @HyperliquidX, and soon @base along with social account creation with Glyph wallet. The roads are being built. It takes time. We are essentially still “pre mainnet” for $ape as it was always created for use in Otherside. We’ve now had 4 years of distribution, essentially end of staking and unlocks and “mainnet” coming in soon.
I strongly believe crypto needs less infrastructure and more things to actually do. Honestly the entire industry should be rooting for success here as it’s a true 0 to 1 moment.
Quack quack mfers.

Just look at this… Jaw. On. The. Floor.
@OthersideMeta is starting to feel more and more like Ready Player One with every update.
This is a masterpiece!
Friendly reminder: it’s still pre-release phase 👀
That’s all from me.
You know where to find me.
Loved hanging out in @OthersideMeta yesterday with @mmwalk's Foxy Fam and @Escapation's Grillz Gang
Scooped a Legendary 1/1 Fox and also this cute lil Samurai fox feller.
Stoked to see other communities join Otherside and go deep in their integrations. My DMs are full of folks looking into doing this.
BUT!!
You do not need to 3D model your whole 10k pfp collection to be part of Otherside. That's a huge amount of work, and not the only path!
You can 3D model just one hero character for your community to use.
OR, once we debut Voyager 2.0, you'll be able to build out wearables and cosmetics for your community to equip rather than full skins, opening up the ability to rep multiple communities at once💡
