@CallieCalicoTV when I was 4 I fell down a flight of stairs and split open my left eyebrow and had to get stitches
it left a pretty cool scar for awhile, but then it faded over time and it's not nearly as cool any more π
I can't thank @meatscave and all of the meatheads enough for inspiring me to get back into art, and encouraging me to keep going over the last year
Here's to many more years in the cave
@PABastien If there's any lesson in comparing a work to the Mona Lisa, it's that there's no such thing as permanency when it comes to legacy
Works that are considered lesser can become "classics" in time, and the flaws inherent in classics can in turn wear away that title. Tide in and out
@PeonyOpossum I'm the same way towards the series (though I started with SH4 when it came out and discovered the rest shortly afterward). I was resistant to it for awhile, but I gave it a shot after the newer trailers seemed promising. No regrets so far, I've been enjoying it a lot.
+ Smarter enemy AI and greater room for skill expression in combat, leading to a lot of tense and genuinely scary encounters (those goddamn mannequins...)
+ Excellent sound design, has legit made my skin crawl
Made it to Heaven's Night in SH2R.
The original has been a personal favorite of mine for about 20 years now, and it's been such a welcome surprise (and a relief) how exceptionally well-made this has been. A lot of my fears and apprehensions have melted away at this point.
Some stuff I've particularly enjoyed:
+ The expansion of the town and the areas between the main locations
+ The new puzzles and clever twists on the old puzzles (love the new coin puzzle)
+ The gap between Wood Side and Blue Creek being a threshold into the Otherworld (!)
