The Committee on Tribal Unity has announced a 24-hour total shutdown across Manipur’s Kangpokpi district from midnight of October 5 to midnight of October 6.

Under the shutdown, all government offices, educational institutions and commercial establishments will remain closed, with exemptions for the media and medical emergencies.

The committee said the shutdown will be observed in mourning for the late Hemkhojang Haokip and urged residents of Kangpokpi district to comply with the call.
