@ASaunders_PGH It isn't that simple. If you drop all sports except football and basketball, then the development of Olympic sport athletes will really decline. That creates a political issue when the US gets crushed in the Olympic medal count in the Summer. Geopolitics drives a lot of decisions
@kylesockwell Agree. It seems like there is a bigger issue at the college level (higher up than athletics). A lot of colleges are in financial distress b/c enrollment is down. Swimming is going to be a target for those schools.
@IrishTomsyFan@PopesLegion@trillydonovan Clemson is 2-3 vs Quad 1. UK is 5-6 vs Quad 1 (Indiana may have dropped to Quad 2 which would pull that down to 4 wins). What are you talking about?
@govols0908@SKing041814@secnumbersguy The goalposts always have been and always will be national titles and final fours for UK fans. No consolation prizes. 2012 (Natty)/2015 (F4) were too long ago. The fact that you said you "win when it matters most" tells you everything you need to know about UT basketball fans.
@YouWontFeelThis@ThomasSowell When you end your statement with a condescending remark like "this isnโt complicated", you better make sure you are right. The problem is that it is very complicated. Taxes go into a giant bucket of money that gets distributed in ways you don't control. Lots of waste/corruption.
@SwimFanAus Your daily reminder that this is a really, really stupid take. You are insulting every swimmer that swam slower than an NCAA All-American by diminishing such an incredibly difficult accomplishment. You are letting your politics hurt our sport. Stop!
@ClayTravis I understand this sentiment, but it would destroy the majority of NCAA sports. Ex., DIII is reliant on the top-end of revenue generating sports as they receive 3.18% of NCAA revenues which, in turn, fund a large amount of their athletic departments. https://t.co/ETJCHNnYXw
@JoshGrahamShow Not sure what point you are trying to make. Neither Indiana or SMU pass the eye test in the games this weekend. They just aren't competitive and don't look like they deserve to be one of the 12 best teams in CFB. This is exactly what a lot people feared would happen.
