After @mohadow - founder and director of @PowerShftAfrica - raised concerns about civil society exclusion, the UN Climate Change responded by allocating two additional press conference slots to @CANIntl at the SB64 summit:
"These talks are taking place at a time when many media organisations are struggling with shrinking budgets and therefore reduced international coverage. For journalists in the Global South, the barriers are even greater. Many face high travel costs, lengthy visa processes or simply could not make the journey to Bonn at all. The press conferences, broadcast online, are one of the few reliable ways for reporters around the world to follow developments and hold negotiators accountable."
Kenya's Agriculture Minister Mutahi Kagwe:
"If a pesticide is considered unsafe for use in one country because it poses unacceptable risks to human health or the environment, it should not find a market elsewhere simply because farmers are poorer or regulations are weaker."

HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE 🫨
Sabastian Sawe becomes the first person ever to break the 2-hour barrier in official race conditions, storming to a historic 1:59:30‼️
@KejelchaYomif, on his marathon debut, also breaks 2 hours with a stunning 1:59:41 and @jacobkiplimo2 clocks 2:00:28, also faster than the previous world record 😤
The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics released a report on the POORLY governed counties in Kenya based on audit issues, unspent funds in the CRF and poverty rates.
I am not shocked to see counties in the semi-arid/arid regions like Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Lamu, Tana River, Kwale and others in the list. What has caught my attention is how KISII COUNTY found itself in this list.
For those who don't know Kisii County; it is a rich county in Agriculture, Trade and Commerce, Mining (Soapstone), and many other economic activities.
In the year 2020 Kisii County was ranked Nyanza's giant in money circulation surpassing Kisumu, something that informed the Central Bank to open one of its branches in Kisii Town Centre to cater for the huge cashflow in the county.
Today, Kisii County is now at its knees for reasons that have always been highlighted by the Controller of Budget related to INCOMPETENCY and BAD GOVERNANCE from the local leadership down at the devolved unit.
It is a sad thing that a town that had grown vibrantly under devolution is now struggling and poverty levels at par with the drought stricken counties. By 2021 Kisii County was one of the highest contributors to the country's GDP but today, it's now worse than it was under the local authorities.
Choices have CONSEQUENCES!

Truphena Muthoni from Kenya has set the record for longest marathon hugging a tree with an unbelievable total of 72 hours.
“Hugging a tree shows that nature is not separate from us, it is family."
Brahim Diaz wasn't aiming to score. He missed the penalty on purpose. Either he's praised for saving AFCON's face, or he's investigated for possible match fixing.
Mendy saved the penalty! Was it African magic, witchcraft, or a deliberate move, especially since Senegal’s players were already fired up over what they saw as the referee’s unfairness?

Moroccan Brahim Diaz took that penalty on purpose. The penalty decision was flawed by the referee and the integrity of Africa Football was at stake. Diaz is our tournament hero and @SMane_Officiel a true leader
