I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money.

There are a=5 terms in this equation. The "outer terms" are 4 and 8, which add to b=12. The "inner terms" are 6 and 7 which add to c = 13. And, lo, a^2 + b^2 = c^2. Coincidence?

The short time we were hybrid was still school shirts, but with jeans. I think I wore slacks once or twice.

In today's episode of remote learning (Geometry edition), I left in the middle of class to help my wife with our daughter (she's fine now).

My students immediately played the Jeopardy theme song. Google recorded it all. I'm still laughing... 🤣

This week I fully committed to leaving my computer by 9pm each night so I could get a good nights sleep. I had a bad habit of staying up and working way later than I should.

Giving myself that deadline (and the rest I need) has made my time immensely more productive.
