I have voted in the @NEUnion formal ballot on pay.
It's time for the government to #PayUp! and provide educators with the fully funded, above-inflation pay rise we deserve. #EducatorsDeserveBetter
Please if you are a member VOTE today and Vote yes.
It's very important that you vote as soon you receive your ballot paper and post it back in the pre-paid envelope provided.
The @NEUnion is demanding a fully funded, above-inflation pay rise. It's time this Government #PayUp as #EducatorsDeserveBetter
An honour to be asked by the PM to return to the DfE. Looking forward to helping deliver the PM’s ambitious plans for ever higher standards in schools and world class technical education.
@nick_allen_poet@EatSleepCycle Depending on the path, dogs off lead is illegal or at least completely against Highway Code regs! They must be on short leads on shared use paths though it doesn’t seem to stop 95% of the dog walkers on commute
@MissHannahEdu The pedant in me would never let this slide. ‘It’s not reaaally six weeks’ ‘we have to plan and get jobs done’ ‘no annual leave flexibility’ etc etc etc.
And then I complain my dating life is going nowhere 🤦🏾♂️
This was the last time I would be climbing these stairs with my bike on shoulder (downstairs classroom next year, yay!) so enjoy it for all its hideous awkwardness. Happy holidays!
@teacherpeloton
@PaulCraig24 There’s an element of passive-aggression to the DfE’s instructions whether they intend to or not. It’s always “we’re not SAYING this, but if you wish you CAN do it.” Places the onus of responsibility on institutions. Cowards.
I was put in the strangest situation yesterday when I had to observe a trainee teacher (as I was covering her mentor). It’s only been a year.5 since I was in their shoes. Still, my feedback came back crystal clear. This is fun. I think I’d like to do some more!
@Miss_S_Gibbons It’s not standard practice at all so must be entirely up to individual schools and their timetable allocations. I taught every key stage from 3-5 full-time in my ECT year, but we were only a 3-person department so the hours added up.
I was prepared to have an absolutely shite day going into P5, to cover a lesson with my previous hardest Y8 class. But they were so happy to have me! Smiles, ‘yay, hi sir!’s and ‘It’s Mr Kumar!’s all around.
Teaching is pretty nice like that sometimes.
@teacherpeloton @454Steven@TeachersRunClub@EF@EdSupportUK@WeAreCyclingUK@London_Cycling On the back of this, I would add - secure bike storage is often not an option, or not fully safe, often even derelict with misuse. I’d rather have flexibility to store a bike safe indoors than to be forced to use external storage.
Hey, @TransportForWM , what on Earth is going on? Your rail services have NEVER been more chaotic and just outright bad. Four cancellations and two delays on a (normal) half an hour journey. I would’ve been home two times over if I’d just cycled!!
Got onto a train at Birmingham International to see about four of my Y10s staring back at me. I smiled and said hello. They were too stunned to talk. Today is proving well amusing.
