Give us a break! The US, especially the GOP, is not very democratic:
1. As a US citizen, you are not automatically entitled to vote in US elections but have to register. The GOP has disqualified millions of legitimate voters on voter rolls.
2. US citizens in DC & Puerto Rico are not represented in Congress.
3. The US pursues massive gerrymandering. Only about 40 out of 435 constituencies are competitive in House elections.
4. Since the SCOTUS verdict Citizens United in 2010, unlimited amounts of dark money are allowed & hundreds of million are used. US elections are to a large extent bought.
5. The Trump billionaires have bought most of US news media & lie without legal limits.
6. Various US bodies have banned at least 23,000 books for mentioning such things as slavery in the US.
7. The US has allowed a convicted felon to be elected president.
8. SCOTUS has given Trump legal immunity.
9. Trump is one of the most corrupt leader in the world the captive US legal system does nothing to check his personal enrichment.

I cannot believe we have got to the point where a ball lightly touching the tips of someone’s hair is being measured by a Snickometer in order to disallow a goal.

The ball’s trajectory and spin were not affected at all.

The offside law was created to stop goal-hanging - it was never intended to be an exact science.

It was never created so that one day artificial intelligence could measure toenails offside and use a snicko to check if someone’s touched a ball.

It was created to stop strikers from man-marking goalkeepers all game.

VAR was meant to be reserved for clear and obvious decisions.

We used to understand that football is better and more entertaining when goals are scored.

That meant that for offsides: in case of doubt, the benefit was given to the attacker while in-line was always onside.

Now we’re using 3D generated AI technology to check toes to the millimetre and extreme microphones to measure minuscule decibels with the aim of disallowing goals and ruining football as a spectacle.

Do they ever ask if we want these changes, do they market test any of it?

What's happening in Ukraine right now is rewriting modern warfare. We need to be paying more attention and learn from our friends in Kyiv.

- Over 12,000 drones were operating over a city the size of Hereford in a single day. Yes… one day.
- 90% of casualties are caused by drones. Not artillery or rifles. Just drones.
- Russia is close to building a million drones a month. Ukraine is trying to match them.
- Russia's uncrewed systems force is 80,000 strong. That is bigger than our entire Army.

Britain has to catch up and we don't have the luxury of time to do it.

We MUST:

- Treat drones as ammunition.
- Build up always-on drone production here in the UK.
- Centralise the data. Use AI to make them smarter.
- Stand up an uncrewed systems force now. Not after a review at some point in future… but now.
- Cut the rules choking off trial and testing.
- Joint ventures between British and Ukrainian industry. They've learnt more in a few years than most countries learn in thirty…
- Work with Ukrainian veterans to test how we exercise and operate.

Remember: A £4000 drone can take out a £4million tank.
