A6 I believe in giving a student who makes a mistake a second chance, especially in a middle school setting. However, if cheating becomes a habit I also believe that sometimes the only way students and adults learn is by facing the consequences of their actions #sblchat
A5 While I give all my students the opportunity for reassessments, I do ask that they complete homework/classwork between the assessments to prove they are actively working on learning new information. #sblchat
A4 in an ideal reassessment would always be an option. Unfortunately, we do not teach in ideal worlds Like in life, sometimes there is not an opportunity or time for redos. Especially true, on standardized tests, which in my state are coming up in the next few weeks #sblchat
A3 IMO reassessment and formative assessment are very closely related. By constantly reassessing needed skills through the formative stage of assessment we make sure students have the best shot at success when it is time for high-stakes summative assessment. #sblchat
A2 One way I try to turn summative assessments into an opportunity for reassessment is through the use of test/quiz corrections. This shows students have learned from their mistakes. This works very well in a curriculum that revisits topics several times. #sblchat
Congratulations to all the WY seniors today. Especially all of the wrestling and field hockey seniors I had the privlage of coaching the last few years. #wyproud
