In my future classroom I hope to be able to incorporate rhyming activities when going over word studies. Words Their Way talks about how important they are to allow children to begin to focus on speech sounds and I agree with them.

At my practicum the teacher does a good job of shared reading to introduce to kids the concept of word. He points to the word and has the children mimic him as they read it together. This helps each child scan from left to right and see every sound within the word #Read366 #W6
