🇫🇷 France just turned a military cargo plane into a wildfire bomber.

A French A400M Atlas, built to haul tanks and troops, is now dumping 20 tonnes of retardant in under 10 seconds over the Gironde fire near Bordeaux that's torched 30,000 hectares. One pass does the work of three water bombers.

The kit pops in and out with zero permanent changes, so it fights fires this week and flies troops the next.

France wasn't supposed to have this flying until 2027, and with over 12,000 fires this year, they couldn't wait.
