KS2 had fun learning how to use forest school tools safely. The children used bow saws, sheath knives and axes to make fire wood and tree slice resources.
What makes you unique? The children used mirrors to draw them selves and wrote down qualities that make them unique. They then went onto colour the qualities in linking them to Zones of Regulation.
Forest School – Ice Sculptures
Teamwork and collaboration was out focus this week and the children loved the opportunity to use the ice to create their own sculptures. We had ice chairs, grand canyon and sculptures.
Forest School – Creativity
Creativity was the focus this week and we set out lots of different activities for the children to choose to explore their own creativity. The children built dens, rock sculptures and created their own obstacle course.
Y1C – London Landmarks the children enjoyed their first forest school session this afternoon completing some outdoor learning based on their topic. We looked at London Landmarks and the children recreated the famous sights using natural resources.
Mr Purshouse led staff meeting this week by trying some of his sessions to show different ways on how to use our Forest School, even in sludgy conditions. We followed an orienteering course based on The Gruffalo story, made mandalas out of nature and recreated nets of 3d shapes.
Y1C loved their forest school session this week, exploring the skills of map reading. The children had to find different maps around the forest and create pictures using different resources.
Our children love the outdoors, learning through exploration, teamwork, collaboration and problem solving. Learning skills at its best. As you can see taking the curriculum outdoors really does expand the mind.
The children have created some beautiful clay faces within the forest school. I wonder if other classes can find them when they explore the outdoor area. Well done everyone. 🌳 Thank you Mr Purshouse.

I like myself - Our artwork over the last couple weeks has taken a lot of resilience for our children but their hard work has paid off! Linked to our previous themes and this week's theme, the children have produced a piece of art to show positive affirmation about themselves.
Y1/2S Forest School – PE OAA Today in PE, we ventured into the forest school area for some exciting blindfolded activities! Students learned the importance of trust and communication as they guided each other with clear instructions. Teamwork in nature at its best! #PE#Trust
Y1/2S Forest School – Science Today at Forest School, we delved into the science of human survival by exploring the importance of shelter. Students worked together to build their own dens, learning about the role of shelter in protecting us from the elements.#ForestSchool
Following on from our work around mistakes yesterday, we created an acrostic poem all about mistakes. The children worked extremely hard on these and have presented them beautifully!
Today’s Forest School PE session was all about trust and teamwork! 🗺️ We went on an exercise hunt using maps, taking turns to find cards around the forest. When teammates returned, we completed the exercises together until the next card was found. Great teamwork. @MrPurshouse

Morning Nurture - On Thursdays we focus on hand and eye co-ordination and our fine motor skills. Linked with our theme/book this week, Colour Monster (Emotions), we created patterns and practiced the skill - weaving.
