Thank you to our fantastic teachers and subject leaders for putting on a brilliant curriculum showcase for our Local Academy Council. It was a great opportunity for our LAC to spend time finding out about the quality of education at our school.
Excellent staff professional development tonight. We co-constructed our vision and culture of high expectations and presentation. We reflected on our practice and used research to inform our next steps. Fantastic contributions from all. #culture#eachandeverychild

For those that use the spine? How do you navigate units that are repeated in Y5 and Y6, e.g. 3.7 Equivalent fractions and 3.10 Linking FDP
In Y3 and 4 they repeat 3.1 introduction to fractions etc. @_MissieBee@NWmathshub3@maths_and_more@ELambertNCETM@HyperHelga
@Isaac_Howarth @NCETM@NWmathshub3@_MissieBee Thank you - I've had a look and there are some elements but it doesn't completely match. Appreciate that, thanks.
Another subject knowledge session today for LSAs on the development of multiplication and division. We looked at progression of stem sentences and used @NumberStacks and MathsBot to use counters and formal methods.@stsilasschool@RainbowEduMAT@NCETM
Excellent results for ENLGAND ROCKS competition. We are also in the top 50 schools in Liverpool. Keep times tables going - well done. #TeamSilas#SilasMaths
Fantastic staff CPD with LSAs looking at how we support in lessons and some maths subject knowledge about the purpose of particular concrete resources. #mathsmastery@stsilasschool@NWmathshub3
In our first Sound lesson we visited a variety of sound stations - investigating what materials they were made of and what we had to do to the item to make a sound. A very noisy but very interesting afternoon!
We have some great news to share on our first day back after half term: we have passed the Rainbow Flag Award @RainbowFlagAwd and achieved all areas! We are really proud of this achievement and it is another example of how we celebrate all of our differences. Well done #teamsilas
Parents/carers, here is a link to our half termly curriculum newsletter…https://t.co/ZfXlYQm9bh Have a great half term and we’ll see you all back at school on 01/11/22.
A lovely reading club with these girls @stsilasschool this afternoon! We enjoyed some tasty scones with jam and clotted cream as we discovered (whilst reading) that they had never tasted them before! We’ve just reached the end of chapter 8 @MzEvieMo…eek! 🫣😬
