Last week I went on an incredible camping trip in #Tanzania with 22 Ss! The Ss taught at a local school and planted banana trees and sweet potatoes for the community. We also woke up to zebras and giraffes at Simba Campsite! An unforgettable experience. #DSC#InternationalSchool
π³οΈβπFor #PrideMonth, the LGBTQ+ Alliance baked cupcakes and cookies to share with the school community. They also created an informative video to play during homeroom, addressing stereotypes and stigma faced by the LGBTQ+ community. I'm proud of their thoughtful advocacy. π³οΈβπ
To my surprise, I recently won the friendly Demo Slam at my school! π Check out my video showcasing how #GoogleSheets has become my secret weapon for staying #organized.

Just finished a two day #YouthMentalHealthFirstAid course offered by @mindhongkong. It's important to prioritize mental health, talk about it openly, and break the stigma. Together, we can create a supportive space for everyone to thrive. #MentalHealthMatters
It's fabulous to see schools back home are shortening the days. I believe this will help with the mental health and burnout from students and teachers. It will also provide more time for teachers to prep & give assistance to students who are struggling to meet the expectations.
πStarting September 3, 2024, both Ridgetown District Elementary (GR. 7/8) and Ridgetown District High School students will start school at 8:00AM and dismissed at 2:10PM.

Thrilled for new teaching experience with #TIJ1O (Grade 9 Exploring Technologies)! Diving into fresh content and expectations is a joy. Students embraced the challenge, crafting wonderful models for an #inclusiveplayground. Sparking #creativity and promoting #universaldesign!
During our staff meeting yesterday, we were talking about differentiated learning. This is a great example! I have been breaking down assignments that I have inherited this year just to make it more straight forward for everyone.
@MsPYeung Your presentation was wonderful and engaging. I am very tempted to reuse your activity with my own students in order to start a conversation regarding behaviour and acceptance.
I joined @MsPYeung in supervising @DSC_EDU's LGBTQ+ Alliance Club. Our Ss took the initiative to raise awareness for Transgender Day of Remembrance. In addition, they organized a nail polish and makeup event, to raise funds for the charity Gender Empowerment.
Feeling fortunate to have lead 27 of @DSC_EDU's students on an unforgettable journey to Cambodia for #ExperientialLearningWeek! Built a home for a family in Komphein and helped construct classroom walls for the community school with HUSK Cambodia. #Proud#DSCInternationalSchool
@MisterCavey I just asked my students, and many of them still use Snapchat as well. A few brought up 'X' / Twitter. Some laughed and said they no longer use it after the name change though.
Students in #ENL1W have been working hard over the past two weeks, exploring different forms of poetry and learning various poetic devices. ππβ¨Β We would like to take a moment to celebrate their poetry anthology that showcases their artistic brilliance! ππ @DSC_EDU
@iborganization courses are SO much better (and @ETFOeducators as well if I must take another AQ/ABQ). @brockueducation is not meeting the needs of their students unfortunately. I am disappointed as a @brockualumni. It's ironic how a Geography course does not look globally.
I cannot wait to be done my @brockueducation ABQ course. An instruction was .. "Can you think of any locally developed geography course that can work within your school board." Okay. My local has been Hong Kong for 10 years and not Ontario, so I answered my question as such.
The instructor's reply: "I appreciate you are teaching at an international school and have that going on, but you need to think beyond the present circumstances and how you "could" design a local course concept." WHAT?! You said MY school board in the question.
