So grateful for the opportunity to listen to and learn from @BernsteinCT@FredEnde and @larrydlewis2424 these past few weeks. Their insight and experiences will undoubtedly make us all better leaders #EDLR5402
@jessica_addie Loved this article for its focus on this! Being a school leader will be lonely without a network of people who understand our position and can offer advice! #EDLR5402
We won’t be able to learn who our students are if they don’t feel safe to tell us and show us.
As a school leader, we need to make sure ALL students feel safe to be themselves. Every single day. #EDLR542
Important point from M. Crockett’s article- a teacher’s content knowledge is so much more than just knowing content. It’s knowing how to make it comprehensible to students. Impossible to do unless you take the time to know who your students are #EDLR5402
@RonTaylor79@PaulODonoghue_ I totally agree. Takes out all the variation in how a student can earn a certain grade and the outside of school influences that students might not be able to control. Also will be great info to use to strengthen tier 1 & 2 supports! #EDLR5402
My school is adopting a grading structure next year where we separate student behaviors (calling them habits of scholarship) from the academic grade. Anyone have any experience with this?
Advice/thoughts?

@PaulODonoghue_@RonTaylor79 I’m really excited about the shift too! Our committee is still working out some details, but i believe the long-term plan is for the habits of scholarship to have its own GPA with honor roll & graduation recognition.
Check your privilege. As someone who’s benefitted from every privilege imaginable, I have a responsibility to SPEAK UP to change a system that has given me advantages at the expense of others. Can’t just bury my head in the sand and pretend I “worked harder” #EDLR5402
@EYaglowski@BernsteinCT This one is really making me think. It’s such a fine line to walk balancing the pressures from above with the needs of teachers & students. It comes back to building relationships & knowing your people! #EDLR5402
@thelearningloop also thank you so much for taking time out of your trip to Maui to talk with our class! My wife and I honeymooned there last year… Highly recommend Kimo’s in Lahaina!
“Your job is not to cover content, it is to cause learning” @thelearningloop People always need to come first, be that students or staff. Without considering their individual needs, learning will not happen, no matter how much content is covered #EDLR5402
Just finished @thelearningloop’s “Personalized Professional Learning”. Awesome read filled with specific, actionable steps. Love the idea of #FlexPD. Any #EDLR5402 peeps have experience with that PL structure?
