Strangest phenomenon happens when we practise our singing for our play. Children will be singing too quietly and mid-verse I'll tell them how good it is because I don't want to moan. Immediately, the singing is incredible. Children just need a meagre amount of encouragement ♥️
It was untenable to succeed in this job at the pace I was going. I will not let this system pressure me into rushing. The children and I couldn't sustain such a pace and we shouldn't be expected to. We do really have the best job in the world.
I have slowed down everything I do as a teacher. The way I talk, the way I walk, the way I interact with my colleagues, the way I travel to school, the way I walk with the children, and the way I help children with their learning. I love this job so much more because of this.
We did plants the other day and the children were blown away by the etymology of daisy. Etymology is everything. It helps with understanding in so many disciplines. Etymology is life.
This job will be the end of me 😂😂 Don't worry about infernal, incessant behaviour management, try number lines. 'So, find the 6, as we've just done on the board ten times. No, that's a 1. Find 6. Good. Now, we're adding on 2. You need to do 2 jumps. Lands on 10.'
I'm not ergophobe at all but, in term time, I currently work 10 hours and 45 mins per day. Monday to Friday. Not counting what I do on weekends). I earn just under £1900 per month after tax, NI, pension, student loan contribution. Frankly, it's a disgrace. I need more £££££.
Is Matilda an acceptable book for Year 1 read aloud?! Really want to start them on a classic and I think they'll be in absolute fits at Trunchbull's pedagogy 🤣🤣
Recently been feasting on a game-changing breakfast that fills you with energy in abundance! Overnight oats: porridge oats, milk, Greek yoghurt, walnuts, peanut butter, banana, and raisins.
If you look at somebody's amazing classroom they've painstakingly organised and set-up and comment insulting, cantankerous things, then you're probably in the wrong career. It fills me with awe, incredulity and ideas. Keep 'em coming!
@HayleyCallicott Just a little worried about Magnus' murder and fact that Miss Honey refers to it as a suicide 🤔 but could gloss over it/re-read to make it less macabre
