Ogun Waterside is the gold location of Ogun State, says Otunba Gbenga Daniel

Yet, Dapo Abiodun neglected our people for nearly 8 years. He made commissioner appointment from other local governments but deliberately excluded Waterside people because we meant nothing to him. He gave us no sense of belonging.

In Ijebu Ode Local Government alone, he appointed more than 2 persons into the Cabinet as Commissioners. For Ogun Waterside, he left us out because he gives no damn about those of us in the remotest part of the state. Since 1999, no Governor has taken any LG for granted like Dapo Abiodun. From Osoba, to OGD to Ajiri Omo Oye, they have all ensured next to equal representation of all local governments in the state cabinet as commissioners.

Interestingly, same Dapo Abiodun now needs the votes of the same Ogun Waterside people who constitute one of the nine LG that make up Ogun East Senatorial District.

Lessons will be learnt.
